To improve the safety of designs created in Simpleplanes, and reduce the likelihood of Major Chad dying as a result of poor engineering, I suggest that a prerequisite to playing or buying Simpleplanes 2 is submitting proof that the prospective player has acquired at least a Bachelor's in Aerospace engineering from an ABET accredited university. Now, some of you might think this is too light and we should actually require at least a PE exam certification or completion of Graduate level studies like a PHD or Master's, but I think the quality of engineering provided by a Bachelor's is sufficient to produce quality aircraft. Possibly, we could require these higher levels of attainment (PE exam or Graduate studies) as a prerequisite to submission of designs to Simpleplanes.com, as I could see how designs that have the potential to proliferate to a degree that submitted aircraft will should have a higher bar to clear, signified by both a PE exam certificate and at least a Master's.
Overall, I think it would improve the quality of designs, and most importantly, reduce the amount of aviation disasters that have become so normalized in SP1. Think of Major Chad's life, and if it is really worth it to let poor aeronautical engineering cause such death and destruction.
