You know those spirals on turbines, They're there to keep birds away from the engine but it would be a cool cosmetic in simpleplanes. Also a buzzsaw sound for high bypass turbines would be neat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkmM9frWB9A

It Could just calculate the engine diameter and rpm and start the buzzsaw when it calculates the tip speed to be around Mach 1

I think the idea is they see dark hole and think "my bird brain wants to fly in there" though the Spiral won't be seen too well at high speeds, the coloration will appear as movement so the bird might not be as attracted to the shelter who knows how well they work

honestly i thought it was just a way for ground crew to easily spot a running engine on the ground
