Awsome work
Engine Part ideas Jundroo please take notes
I think I'd rather see procedural piston/turboprop engines. The cowling intakes and fairings could all be made by the player with the new fuselage blocks
Agreed, then we could also create radial piston prop planes with no cowling to see all the cylinders.
Maybe even the really old type of rotary engine where the engine itself rotated around a fixed shaft

Video of a WWI rotary engine start up at the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.
By this logic, we should have the same drive train system for planes as we now have for cars, where the prop is separate from the engine and could be driven by a driveshaft. This would also allow for real turbine pwrd helicopter builds.
Basically how flyout does it? Turboprop in that game is literally small jet engine+gearbox+prop lol
Ooooh ive never heard of that game, now I gotta check it out. But yeah with this, then we could have custom tail props driven directly off of main rotor engine, keeping them in-time and making yaw control easier. They'd have to add a gen purpose swashplate mechanism that can be driven by a driveshaft part and operated by rotors or pistons though. But then we could have jet powered cars, jet boats too. In that the jet engine would be spinning a propeller or tires. Cool feature to add would be that car engines will stall upside down while airplane engines could operate in a wider range of orientations
It looks great. To be honest, I would have chosen a slightly different selection of engines (but this is just my opinion, and you may disagree). I would have added two V-shaped engines to the selection: the RR Merlin/Griffon (the true "heart" of the P-51) and the Hispano-Suiza 12/Klimov M-105 (I think you can guess why I suggested the second pair). You can also add German engines. They were quite unique. We could also add the beautiful Napier Sabre. In terms of star-shaped engines, we can remember the British masterpiece, the Bristol Centaurus.
This got me thinking about different variants of jet engines: I soooooo badly want a scramjet engine for a perfect SR-71!
If we're talking about engines, why not implement everything we've done for car enthusiasts?
If I remember correctly, I wrote about the possibility of changing the engine configuration in the Whishlist (although I wrote about the possibility of changing the cylinder bank angle).
I also have some doubts about the possibility of using such models. The problem may be exaggerated, but using the same second engine on the same Spitfire would not be possible due to the air intake, which is located in a place where the Spitfire had nothing. Perhaps this problem can be solved by changing the location of the protruding parts?
It may sound rude. Please don't take offense at me. Almost all of my friends and I use the T1000 engine, which is available in SP, when building propeller planes. The lack of power and size can be addressed through XML. The only issue that was challenging to resolve in SP was the engine's sound.
