I was thinking of methods Major Chad could interact with parts, and i thought of the following idea: A "Hand-hold" part, that allows the creation to be held in hand by Major Chad, while he is walking/outside of a vehicle. This would allow the community to create all sorts of items for Chad to use, like MANPADS, guns, equipment/parachutes, the possibilities are endless. There could be a weight/size limit if necessary (may cause bugs if items are too large/heavy), but I think this would not only be an awesome addition, but it would allow effectively infinite possibilities for hand-held items instead of a "gun" or "missile launcher" being a stand-alone part.

thank yall, i saw a few posts asking for guns (like generic ar-15 or m9 pistol), but i thought of this idea, and realized it would probably free up devs from having to make weaponry, as guns/missiles it could be made from parts already in-game, and if there were hand held weaponry added as a stand-alone part, there would only be like one or two guns/launchers; this could vastly increase the diversity of weaponry available to chad
I don't even thinking that far in terms of modularity. But hell yeah does it sounsd very relieving for devs.
i could see it possibly being difficult to program the holding a creation while walking, but I would think it could overall save dev time over implementing regular weaponry.
Another thought was that there could even be Chad-posing in the editor (like as we saw in the steering wheel showcase), where we can customize how chad holds the creation when he picks it up
Can imagine parachuting or using a wingsuit with this one.
It's moderate-hard but it is certainly in the realms of possibilities.
Doesn’t this sorta exist in the form of the cylinder grip? It just needs the added functionality of chad being able to interact with it (which they may already have implemented)

That's a good point, I didn't think about the difference in Chad having to lift it and point it around.
I do think the already-in-game interactions with Chad and Handles/steering wheels could hopefully make this easier to add in game, as all it leaves is the ability for chad to move the creation while walking

ues this could be cool, a game that i know allready dose this is startship EVO, however if they add this instead of dedicated chad items/inventory/weapons would have a significant drop in their gameplay, as in animations and potential FPS mechanics
While this is cool for firearms, depending on how this could go, this to lead to handles or latters

yeah, i think reloads might not be possible. However, in the Chad-pose-mode, it might be possible to have two different hold positions (ADS and non-ads). But honestly, i don't think there would be too many FPS mechanics in simpleplanes 2 to begin with

the punishment for making an unstable craft, or crashing a plane is it flipping and whatnot. You can flip it, and its restarting/ respwaning (in multiplayer). If youre just able to flip it... then whats the point? you dont get the satisfaction of building that actually stays upright if youve been struggling with that if you can just flip it
It’s not “bad game design” to punish you for making a bad craft. Your example ‘Halo: 3’ is a fast paced arcade shooter, if you flip your warthog, it’d suck to have to go back and get a new one. So Bungie added the ability to just flip it. (Not to mention, you’re also a super-soldier in the 2500s who can canonically punch tanks hundreds of feet away)
In a building/simulation game, part of the fun is figuring out what’s wrong with your craft, and fixing it. If you made an extremely top heavy car that keeps falling over, then YOU did something wrong and should figure out ways to fix it. The game shouldn’t give you a way you to just put a bandaid on it till it flips again.
Games like Sprocket aren’t Mil-Sims either, yet sprocket still punishes you if you make a bad tank by forcing you to figure out what’s wrong with it. Removing that aspect removes a core part of an engineering style game. Even if it’s something small like a flip button

Again, part of the fun is fixing the issues your craft has. If you really cannot build a stable craft for the life of yourself, and need a flip button, build it yourself and add pistons that set you right side up

I have not pingged you once since the first time you replied to me. You can turn off notifications. I’d recommend making a scheduled time that notifications for your phone turns off besides a select few (like phone calls from family or friends)

And a flip button isn’t it. As I said an hour earlier, if you can’t building something that stays upright, then build something that will flip your creation. The fun of this genre of game is working through problems and fixing them

Space engineers doesn’t have a flip button
Trail makers doesn’t have a flip button
Why would this specific game have a flip button, when all of the aforementioned games follow the same general design basis? Work around your problems, and/or solve them
