THERMALS

Being a part of the glider world,
Including thermals is such a small thing to add, but can add a lot of realism to flying with glider or any other lightweight aircraft.
This will open a whole new world for other simple planes players who would build or fly a glider.
also can be used to make glider compatitions

The thermal won't have to be complicated an can be pared with the clouds.
Thermals could be paired with small, scattered cumulus clouds to help players locate rising air.
Just like in real life, these clouds would form at the top of thermal columns, giving pilots a visual clue where lift can be found.
Flying under or near these clouds would allow gliders to gain altitude, making soaring more strategic and rewarding

VARIOMETER THAT MAKES SOUNDS

A variometer is a tool that tells pilots if they are climbing or descending, and how fast. It’s very important for glider pilots to find rising air (thermals) and stay in them longer.
The variometer should have a sound just like in real gliders — a rising or falling tone that changes with vertical speed.
This audio feedback makes flying feel more alive and helps players find thermals without constantly looking at instruments

OpenVario is an OpenSource glide computer with XCSoar and an integrated electronical variometer. The variometer works fine, but the speed-to-fly sound needs some improvements.

Ok you kinda stole my post

sorry dude. It was more of an add on to yours. because i though yours missed somethings. and maybe if more people ask for the same thing the chance is higher that the devs will add it to the game. Im not trying to steal or anything.

as a glider pilot, i'm all for this
Pretty please devs?? x3

wait.. imagine ridge lift in sp2, that would be pretty awesome, and with some motion blur effects as well :^)

Ah the Netherlands, very nice!
I fly in the south of the UK so i'm just across the pond :^)
2 LS8's blows my club's 2 astirs out of the water, hah

Nice, dude! I'd really love to go flying in the UK sometime. I think the weather here in the Netherlands is pretty easy to get used to, haha.
Yeah, our fleet is quite large—this is actually an older version. We've overhauled a lot of our gliders since then, so they don't look as old as they do in these photos anymore. we have added a ls-8 18m aswell like i said . what is the name of you club if i may ask?

yeah, I started flying when I was 13, solo'd at 14 and flew for quite a few years. I got the GPL, cross country endorsement etc. Though I never really got super into long cross country flights, it didn't seem that rewarding to me and I preferred just enjoying local soaring (we had a Ka-6e, wonderful plane to fly, so light and responsive with the all-moving tail). Since going to uni sadly I haven't really had time to get into flying again so I'm a couple years out of practice now

i'd love to of course but there's a load of other stuff i've got to do first. If it happened i reckon it would be in an update later down the road, but I'm not making promises there
