For better cockpit instrumentation and realism.

This sounds like a cool idea. Much better than spending a month making a label-based PFD, and then another two months making a mod PFD (although with any stock part opposed to custom, there will be limitations, just like procedural jet engines instead of 100% custom, hand-made jet engines).

I think almost entirely customisable electronic displays are possible, however the concept that I have in mind is quite unlikely to be implemented in a game such as this. If you were able to start with a blank screen part, then enter a sort of customising mode where you can choose from a wide selection of indicators and displays to add onto it, reposition and resize and format them however you wish. Sort of like customising a game UI, but with instruments. It would be an amazing way of making your own electronic displays, and it would work for almost anything. PFDs, MFDs, even maybe an EFB would be possible. Mods might even be able to add an even wider range of community contributed instruments to choose from.
