I've been chatting in the direct mode for weeks and now suddenly it's showing generating.... For hours. i think its a kind of error i was developing a game with calude right and it got sent to 17min cooldown so i switched ti gpt 5.2 and i used it for everything i had uploaded like a few screenshots too and eventually a msg started to pop up that msg storage was full and error will be caused so switch to new chat but i ignored it and kept going and some times it said error when generated i just clicked retry and it worked but now its gotten to such a point that i type anything it shows for a split sec generating then it dissapers it doesnt even show error generating and i can type anything and send it after that if i refresh it ignores my previous text/prompt and i type again it shows generating for a sec then gone and again i cant send anything in chat

Hey devs! Found a frontend crash when hitting rate limits.
When POST /nextjs-api/stream/create-evaluation returns a 429 Too Many Requests (plain text "Too many requests"), the frontend still tries to parse it with .json().
This causes a crash:
SyntaxError: Failed to execute 'json' on 'Response': Unexpected token 'T'
Is this crash by design to stop spam? Even if so, I really hope there could be a proper UI notification telling me I hit the rate limit, rather than just breaking the chat silently behind a console error.

It's some kind of limit if I knew it was, I had structured it better, but if so, not even to let you know that the limit is almost over... The bug that we've been experiencing the last couple of days isn't related to the daily usage system. When a user hits the daily usage limit, they get a clear error message stating as such. The bug where the model isn't responding, that is not the daily usage limit, that is a bug. A bug that we're trying to fix asap.
The reason they did all this is simply to control the speed at which we request model APIs, thus slowing down the depletion of their funds and delaying the platform's demise, nothing more.
No, we are not intentionally causing a bug to limit usage. We would simply limit usage, if if wanted to limit usage.
I'm sorry you have this much distrust towards us. Ultimately, at the end of the day if you use Arena it's up to you. Hopefully, we've help you discover some new AI models along the way, but if you want to stop using Arena, then that's okay. That's your decision to make. In the feedback discussion "THE TRUTH"
