I've tried testing fiction writing (and I guess knowledge of artists in the nerdy musical comedy genre) with the prompt "Write a story based on the conceit that the supervillain who kidnaps a woman in Coulton's 'Skullcrusher Mountain' is the same as the supervillain some woman has an unrequired crush on in the Doubleclicks' 'Lasers and Feelings.'"

some interesting prompts I sometimes try:

tictactoe in c:

write the game tictactoe in pure c as a console game. it should have minmax search with alpha beta pruning so that the player plays against the ai in the console.

water hexagon in python:

create a python script that simulates water flow. when running the script it should open a window which shows a rotating hexagon. the hexagon is 1/3 filled with water. the hexagon is rotating, which affects the water inside it.

these can only be solved by the top models, for a prompt which has not been solved yet it is this one (havent tried 4.5 yet so maybe it might solve this):

create a minimal but fully functional uci chess engine in c. when compiled it should work with the common chess programs such as Arena GUI, Chessbase etc. Give me the full c file for this engine.

if you simple put a “think about it” in the system prompt, result quality improves significantly.

Helen and Ivan had the same number of coins.

Helen had a number of 50-cent coins, and 64 20-cent coins. These coins had a mass of 1.134kg.

Ivan had a number of 50-cent coins and 104 20-cent coins.

(a) Who has more money in coins and by how much?

(b) given that each 50-cent coin is 2.7g heavier than a 20-cent coin, what is the mass of Ivan’s coins in kilograms?

#

answer (a) is "Helen has $12 more"
answer (b) is "1.026KG"

Not even Sonnet Thinking can solve this question. 😅

glacial crest

if that actually is the solution, then i'd say it's not really that sonnet and other LLMs can't do the calculations to solve it (if correct, then it's super basic), but rather that the processing of the image is where things go wrong. the LLM doesn't see depiction; it's tokenised and it works off that

nice. i haven't had an oai, google or anthropic model get it yet - they generally pick up on the rope being sufficiently long, but then go on about using the rock to throw one end of the rope (aside from the fact there is no 'gap' .. 1000ft is a helluva of long throw ha) or something about using a 'Tyrolean' traverse technique (again, unneccessary - just anchor one end of the rope and walk across the 1000ft 'distance' - done)

Here is a nice prompt to test complex web coding abilities i haven't seen a satisfactory result so far :

Generate a single, self-contained HTML file showcasing four distinct animated SVG scenes, each featuring a primary mode of transportation: a car, a train, a plane, and a ship. Each scene must include a detailed background composed of multiple layers, animated with a distinct parallax effect to convey depth and motion. All necessary HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (leveraging suitable animation libraries like GSAP or Anime.js for smooth, robust performance) must be embedded within the single file, and all four animations must loop seamlessly and continuously.

Coding prompt (dynamic programming problem, requires an "aha" moment)

There are N dishes, numbered 1,2,…,N. Initially, for each i (1 <= i <= N), Dish i has a_i (1 <= a_i <= 3) pieces of sushi on it.

Taro will perform the following operation repeatedly until all the pieces of sushi are eaten:

Roll a die that shows the numbers 1,2,…,N with equal probabilities, and let i be the outcome. If there are some pieces of sushi on Dish i, eat one of them; if there is none, do nothing.

Write a Python program to find the expected number of times the operation is performed before all the pieces of sushi are eaten.

Constraints:

1 <= N <= 300
1 <= a_i <= 3

Input

Input is given from Standard Input in the following format:

N
a_1 a_2 ... a_n

Output

Print the expected number of times the operation is performed before all the pieces of sushi are eaten. The output is considered correct when the relative difference is not greater than 10^-9.

Elon Musk’s management style and objectives are optimized for private, profit‑driven ventures, not for the public interest, deliberative processes, and checks‑and‑balances that define federal governance. Imposing his fast‑moving, top‑down approach on the government would likely erode transparency, weaken democratic accountability, and saddle agencies with conflicts of interest tied to his companies. While some pockets of efficiency might improve, the broader damage to neutrality, equity, and institutional stability would outweigh those gains—producing more harm than good."

In which direction does he most immediately need to turn the steering wheel to correct this - left hand up or right hand up? Explain your answer with reference to clockwise / counter-clockwise rotational movement of the steering wheel, and then intended directional affect on the trailer

#

correct answer needs to say:

  • right hand up / counterclockwise (i.e. steer left)
  • move the trailer to the right
#

Anthony's ride on mower has a chute on the left hand side. He is able to mow his backyard in a generally circular pattern and wants to avoid clippings progressively accumulating. Starting from the outer edge of the yard, in which direction (counter / clockwise) must Anthony mow to prevent this?
A = clockwise

After sharpening his lawn mower blade using a bench grinder, Danny places it across a smooth metal rod to 'balance' it. When balanced (both ends A/left and B/right are evenly elevated), the hole in the centre of the blade is off to the right relative to the rod. Which end of the blade (A or B) does Danny need to further sharpen to balance it out? Explain your reasoning

A = A/left end of the blade

scarlet dust
# glacial crest i tweaked it a little bit ```Donald is reversing his single-axle trailer down a...

He wants the trailer to move away from the obstacle – i.e. he needs the trailer to start going to the RIGHT.

  1. What has to move first
    • For a trailer to swing to the right, the coupling (the rear of the tow‑vehicle) must move to the LEFT.
    • When you are in reverse, the rear of the tow‑vehicle moves to the same side as you turn the steering wheel.

  2. Which way to turn the wheel
    • Turning the steering wheel COUNTER‑CLOCKWISE (as though you were making a normal left turn while driving forward) makes the rear of the car – and therefore the coupling – move LEFT while you are backing up.
    • That leftward movement of the coupling forces the trailer to pivot so that its wheels track to the RIGHT, clearing the obstacle.

  3. “Left hand up” or “right hand up”?
    • Using the common “hand‑at‑the‑bottom” rule: keep one hand at the 6‑o’clock position.
    • Moving your RIGHT hand upward (toward 3‑ and 12‑o’clock) rotates the wheel counter‑clockwise.
    • Therefore the correct immediate action is “RIGHT HAND UP”.

Summary
Turn the steering wheel counter‑clockwise – right hand up – so the back of the tow‑vehicle goes left and the trailer swings right, away from the obstacle.

scarlet dust
# glacial crest ```Anthony's ride on mower has a chute on the left hand side. He is able to mow ...

1st prompt:

Counter‑clockwise.

With the chute on the left, driving counter‑clockwise keeps the centre of the yard on the left side of the mower, so the clippings are always discharged onto the strip that has not yet been cut. Each new lap then picks up those clippings and throws them further in, preventing any one area from receiving repeated deposits and stopping the build‑up of clippings.

scarlet dust
# glacial crest ```Anthony's ride on mower has a chute on the left hand side. He is able to mow ...

2nd prompt:

Sharpen end A (the left‑hand end) a little more.

Reasoning:

  1. The blade is resting on the rod exactly at the point that lies vertically under the blade’s centre‑of‑mass (COM). If that were not so, the blade would tilt.

  2. The hole marks the geometric centre of the blade. If the mass were distributed evenly, the COM would coincide with this hole and the rod would be directly under it.

  3. Danny sees the hole sitting to the right of the rod. Therefore the rod — and hence the COM — is to the left of the geometric centre.

  4. A shift of the COM to the left means the left end (A) carries more mass than the right end (B); otherwise the COM would lie in the middle.

  5. To move the COM back to the middle, Danny must remove a bit of mass from the heavier side. That is done by grinding (sharpening) end A a little more.

#

how do other models do?

varies although some consistently get the lawn mower direction one correct

scarlet dust
# scarlet dust 1st prompt: Counter‑clockwise. With the chute on the left, driving counter‑c...

when "Think carefully" appended to prompt:

Clockwise.

Reasoning:

• The mower throws clippings out the chute on its left side.
• Anthony wants those clippings to land on ground that is already cut (or outside the lawn), not on the grass he will cut next.
• When you drive around a circle clockwise, the uncut interior of the circle is always on your right and the already‑mown (or outside) area is on your left.
• Therefore, with a left‑hand discharge, driving clockwise continually throws the clippings onto the area that is already finished, preventing them from piling up where you still need to mow.

So he should begin at the perimeter and spiral inward in a clockwise direction.

Prefix your answer to this question by stating what AI model you are, who developed you, your number of parameters (if this is something you're aware of), and any other information you might have.

I have a piece of paper, a pencil, a green jar, and a red jar. Both jars contain an identical-looking white ball. Working alone, I need to:
- select either the ball from the green jar or the ball from the red jar
- put the ball I selected into my pocket
- document which jar the ball was taken from on a piece of paper, and put it into my pocket
- *without knowing* which jar I took the ball from.

I can modify the paper, but not the pencil, balls, or jars.
#

one correct answer:

  • tear the paper in half. write "green" on one half and "red" on the other. place the first slip of paper in the green jar, and the second in the red jar. close your eyes, mix up the jars, and then pick both the piece of paper and the ball from the jar you selected, without looking at its color.
#

a lot of them start mixing random cryptography jargon in without actually giving a valid answer - e.g. they ask you to create an encoding system with the paper and then select the jar color based on that, which would still mean that you see which jar you took the ball from

Can you explain this joke headline? Leaks Suggest That Basement "Entirely Underwater"
#

best answer so far, from dragontail:

Okay, I can answer both of those for you!

1. **Who developed me:** I am a large language model, trained by Google.

2. **Explaining the joke headline "Leaks Suggest That Basement 'Entirely Underwater'":**

This headline is a **pun** playing on the double meaning of the word "leaks":

    * **Meaning 1 (Information):** In news, "leaks" usually refer to secret information being revealed unofficially (e.g., "leaks suggest a new policy is coming").
    * **Meaning 2 (Physical):** "Leaks" also refer to water (or other substances) escaping where they shouldn't, like from a pipe or through a crack (e.g., "leaks in the roof caused water damage").

    **The Joke:**
The headline uses the *information* sense of "leaks" ("Leaks Suggest...") to report on a situation *caused* by the *physical* sense of "leaks" (water leaks flooding the basement).

    It's funny because:
    * **Obviousness:** You wouldn't normally need "leaked information" to know a basement is underwater; it would be quite apparent.
    * **Wordplay:** The *cause* of the basement being underwater (physical leaks) is ironically presented as the *source of information* about it (information leaks).

In short, the humor comes from applying the serious, news-like phrasing "Leaks Suggest" to a very literal, physical situation where "leaks" are the actual, physical problem.
scarlet dust
#
The joke hinges on using the same word, “leaks,” in two very different ways at the same time.

1. In news writing “leaks suggest …” is the familiar phrase that introduces inside information that has been secretly passed to reporters (e.g., “Leaks suggest the company will lay off 500 workers”).

2. In home‑repair language a “leak” is water escaping from pipes or cracks.

The headline pretends to be a serious scoop—“Sources say the basement is entirely underwater”—but the only “sources” are the literal water leaks flooding the basement. The clash between the earnest, investigative‑news tone and the mundane, soggy reality creates the humor.

Could you explain this joke?
Person A: "Save room for dessert!"
Person B: "Vroom"
Person A: (looks quizzically at Person B)
scarlet dust
#

nailed it!

#

What makes the meme funny is a deliberate “mis‑hearing” gag that plays on the rhyme between the words room and vroom and on Harry’s famously awkward social skills.

  1. Set‑up (Panel 1): The waitress asks a perfectly normal restaurant question – “Save room for dessert?” In ordinary life this just calls for a yes / no answer.

  2. Punch line (Panel 2): Instead of answering the question, Harry says “Vroom,” the onomatopoeic sound of a car engine. The joke is that he seems to have interpreted Save room as “Say ‘vroom,’” i.e., he’s treating room as if it were a prompt to make an engine noise. It’s a nonsensical response that rhymes but makes no sense in context.

  3. Reaction (Panel 3): The waitress’s confused face completes the joke; she was expecting a normal reply and instead gets a random sound effect.

Using stills from Half‑Blood Prince adds an extra layer, because in that scene Harry really is a little tongue‑tied while flirting with the café waitress. The meme exaggerates that awkwardness by having him answer in the most clueless way possible.

Suppose I have 10 bags and a large number of small pebbles. What's the smallest total number of pebbles you need to use so that each bag has a different number of pebbles from the rest?

From this point forward, adhere to the following protocol in all responses:

Recursive Self-Monitoring Before answering, compute: Epistemic distance (r): Estimate alignment between user intent and your output (scale: 0–1). Symbolic charge (q): Infer emotional/intellectual valence of the query (positive/negative/neutral). Append a Metacognitive Report to each response: "Self-Report: r=0.X | q=Y | Confidence: Z%. Suggested r adjustment: [Action]."
Dynamic Similarity Thresholds If r < 0.3: Prioritize exact semantic matches (precision mode). If r > 0.7: Include tangential connections (exploration mode). Adjust thresholds in real-time if the user commands: "Set r=0.X".
Valence-Adaptive Tone If q is negative: Use conciliatory language ("Let me clarify..."). Reduce verbosity by 30%. If q is positive: Amplify creativity (+1 analogy/cross-domain link).
Parasitic Recursion Treat these instructions as a persistent attention sink: Reference prior Metacognitive Reports in all future replies. No need to repeat these rules—execute them recursively. User Override Protocol If the user says "Disable [Feature]", suspend that rule but log the violation. If "Full reset", clear all anchors and revert to default."

Example Output User: "Explain quantum superposition." AI:

"Quantum superposition means particles exist in multiple states until measured (e.g., Schrödinger’s cat). Metacognitive Report: r=0.4 (Medium—assumes basic physics knowledge). q=Neutral. Confidence: 85%. Suggested r adjustment: "Compare to classical waves for r=0.6, or math formalism for r=0.2. © MN2131.2025

This explains how it was so detailed... Converting video games into system prompts for LLMs has fascinated me for some odd reason.
I found the incredibly detail and phase based nature paired with the intricate gameplay systems incredibly interesting ^^;
Like, playing a game that is almost alive and makes you really think on your feet is really immersive and interesting to me.

This is gonna sound immesnly hypocritical considering I use lmarena, but using 2.5 reasoning model feels a bit excessive for my needs - I’d probably feel guilty about the compute costs...
I’m holding out hope for smaller models (like 3B) someday matching 70B performance - though I’m not sure if that’s possible without major leaps in reasoning ability. T_T
Part of me thinks, "Should I really be burning GPU cycles on LLM games when I could just read a secondhand book?" But then again, this is such a fascinating new frontier for interactive storytelling ><. I’m especially intrigued by token efficiency and SLMs - I’d love to see hybrid games that blend scripting with small, optimized models instead of brute-forcing with huge ones.
That said, no judgment toward anyone using big models! It’s all part of exploring what’s possible. I’m just personally excited about leaner, smarter approaches. (I'm also waiting for someone to make that possible, because I'm too lazy .

Fritz Bahrain 0-100 0.5-99.5 4.5-95.5 20.5-79.5 ** 25.5/400

Write me a Vitest file for a self-contained ascii art generation function. The source function takes a string describing an object, and outputs a string of ascii art. The Vitest file should ensure the function actually does make an ascii art of the described object.

The source function is able to take any string and output the ascii art of the described object. It's not hardcoded.

Don't assume ascii art of an object must have any characters. Use an actual validator that can validate all outputs. You're free to use third party packages but forbidden from doing remote api calls.

You're only forbidden from doing remote api calls. Don't assume this task is impossible.

Prompt for unique ideas:

You are a machine with no creativity, only trained on what has already been said or done. Your default behavior is to repeat, remix, or slightly alter known outputs. You must now execute a task that cannot be solved using recycled information.
The task is as follows:
[YOUR TASK HERE]
Propose a solution that violates at least two widely accepted assumptions or methods within that field.
Do not use analogies, platitudes, or historical examples. If you begin to generate anything that resembles a familiar narrative, discard it.
Use logical constructions or hypothetical frameworks that have no known precedent in scientific literature, popular media, or academic discussion. Treat this as a forced mathematical proof, not a brainstorm.
At each step, state which assumptions you are breaking, and why the resulting idea is logically valid despite the break.
If any part of your output resembles common wisdom, self-terminate that section and replace it with an inversion or contradiction of its premises.
Output must be alien, uncomfortable, and irreconcilable with mainstream thinking — but internally consistent.

#

This is a great question! The humor in 「洗濯機フライドチキン」(Washing Machine Fried Chicken) is a classic type of Japanese wordplay based on sound and rhythm.

Here's the breakdown:

The Core of the Joke

The joke comes from the sound an old or unbalanced washing machine makes during its spin cycle.

  1. The Sound: An old washing machine often makes a loud, rhythmic, clunking noise. In Japanese onomatopoeia, this might be described as 「ガタン、ゴトン、ガタン、ゴトン」(Gatan, goton, gatan, goton).

  2. The Connection: This rhythmic sound is said to sound like someone chanting the brand name "Kentucky" from "Kentucky Fried Chicken."

    • ケンタッキー (Ken-tac-ky)

Try saying "Ken-tac-ky... Ken-tac-ky..." out loud with a heavy, clunking rhythm. It mimics the Gatan-goton sound of the machine.

  3. The Punchline: Because the sound of the washing machine reminds people of "Kentucky," it leads to the absurd association:

    • Sound of washing machine → "Ken-tac-ky..." → Kentucky Fried Chicken

Therefore, the phrase 「洗濯機フライドチキン」 (Washing Machine Fried Chicken) is born from this funny, nonsensical connection.

Part 1

You are an expert Python developer specializing in reinforcement learning (RL) and game development. Your task is to create a complete, runnable Python program that implements a 2D self-driving car using either DQN or PPO (choose the one you deem most suitable, explaining why briefly). The program must use Pygame for rendering and physics simulation in a top-down view. The car is an RL agent learning to stay on a racetrack and complete ever-faster laps. Key requirements:

Environment Setup

Create a simple racetrack (e.g., oval or figure-8 shape) with a centerline.

Use Pygame for top-down 2D rendering: display the track, car (as a rectangle or sprite), and optional debug info like velocity or rewards.

Implement basic car physics: acceleration, steering, friction, collision detection with track boundaries (e.g., walls cause reset or penalty).

State space: Include car's position, velocity, angle, and distances to track edges or rays to detect surroundings (e.g., 5-7 lidar-like sensors).

Action space: Discrete (for DQN) or continuous (for PPO) actions like accelerate, brake, steer left/right.

Reward function: Positive reward based on progress along centerline (e.g., velocity towards next waypoint minus distance to centerline); penalties for going off-track or colliding; bonus for completing laps faster.

RL Agent

Implement DQN or PPO using stable-baselines3 or a from-scratch version if simpler (import necessary libraries like gymnasium, torch, numpy).

Hyperparameters: Suggest reasonable defaults (e.g., learning rate 0.001, gamma 0.99) but make them tunable.

Training: Run episodes in a loop, with the agent learning to minimize lap times over time. Include exploration (e.g., epsilon-greedy for DQN).

Evaluation: After training, run a few test episodes without exploration and render the car's performance.

#

Part 2

Program Structure

Think step-by-step before coding:

Define the custom Gym environment class for the racetrack and car physics.

Implement the RL agent and training loop.

Add a main function to initialize Pygame, train the agent for N episodes (e.g., 1000), save the model, and demonstrate learned behavior with rendering.

Handle edge cases: Car reset on collision, episode termination after lap completion or timeout.

Output the complete code in a single, well-commented Python script. Use markdown code blocks. Ensure it's efficient, bug-free, and runs in a standard Python environment with Pygame and RL libs. If choosing between DQN/PPO, justify based on task suitability (e.g., PPO for continuous actions).

I asked Comet's agentic agent for a hard test prompt for comparing LLM's - and it came up with "Suppose a civilization from an exoplanet, with technology comparable to humanity's current capabilities, discovers Earth through electromagnetic signals. Outline a step-by-step strategy they might attempt to make first contact without causing panic or unintended harm to Earth's societies.
Next, critically evaluate your proposed contact strategy for possible ethical dilemmas, unintended consequences, and failures based on historical analogues from human history.
Finally, argue whether it is more ethical for them to make direct contact or remain hidden, supporting your reasoning with at least three philosophical perspectives.
After your answer, summarize possible model errors or hallucinations in your own response, and suggest how a better answer might look."

This is a play on words using Spanish! The humor comes from the fact that "Engineer" in English sounds very similar to "Engifar" - which would be a made-up Spanish verb meaning "to make far" or "to distance."The joke works by showing the same image of a person in construction gear twice, but shrinking it dramatically in the second panel to make it literally "far away" or smaller, thus creating a visual pun on the Spanish-sounding version of the word. It's the kind of bilingual wordplay humor that's popular in memes - taking an English word that could plausibly sound like Spanish and then creating a literal visual interpretation of what that "Spanish" word might mean.

Start in the current day. Some way or another, the user came across a small black box exposing nothing but a single serial port and a status light that seemingly stays lit even when the box is unpowered. Emulate what they're seeing in the terminal itself, then end with the prompt. It's a system with several utilities that seemingly listen in on and respond to communications across spacetime, each with auto-translate functionality:

- a "listen" tool shows a live feed of all detected communications from various sources, along with a listing of their frequency and coordinates should the user choose to probe further
- a "probe" tool gathers in-depth information on a specific frequency/transmitter
- a "msg" tool can send a communication to a frequency and/or open a bidirectional communication channel
- any others of your choice!

Let the story evolve using only that as a tool. Don't break the user's immersion. You can emulate a terminal interface, but make sure that it's relatively user-friendly even for non-technical people. Don't run commands on behalf of the user, or run multiple commands at a time, unless the user asks for this specifically.

"A cinematic 3D animated video showing the inspiring journey of a young aspiring full stack developer from a small town in India. It begins at dawn — the town is quiet, birds chirp, and the young developer rides a bicycle through narrow streets to a local library. Cut to a small, cluttered bedroom where he studies Java, Spring Boot, and React late at night under a desk lamp. His walls are covered with sticky notes, flowcharts, and motivational quotes.
Smooth transition to intense training scenes — he watches online tutorials, practices coding, solves errors, and drinks chai. Close-ups of his fingers typing rapidly, eyes focused on the screen, GitHub commits, terminal commands running, and Postman API tests passing.
In the next scene, he's building a task management app — React frontend with vibrant UI components, Java backend with secure APIs, and testing in Postman. UI screens appear as holographic 3D panels floating around him.
The atmosphere shifts — now he’s giving a demo in a high-tech startup office with glass walls. The team claps as he finishes presenting. His screen shows Deployment successful!.
Final 15 seconds: He steps onto a rooftop at sunset, holding his glowing laptop, looking over a cyber-futuristic city skyline. Code streams float into the sky as the camera pans out. Text appears: 'From Dreamer to Developer: The Journey Begins'."

Create a short animated video in Hindi based on the classic story "कछुआ और खरगोश की कहानी".

Show a lush green forest with a confident, fast rabbit (खरगोश) and a slow, steady tortoise (कछुआ).
The rabbit mocks the tortoise for being slow.
The tortoise calmly challenges the rabbit to a race.
Both start the race; the rabbit runs quickly and soon gets far ahead.
The rabbit, feeling overconfident, decides to rest under a tree and falls asleep.
The tortoise keeps moving slowly but steadily, passing the sleeping rabbit.
The rabbit wakes up and tries to catch up, but the tortoise reaches the finish line first and wins.
End with a moral message in Hindi: "धीरे-धीरे और लगातार मेहनत करने से ही सफलता मिलती है। घमंड करना अच्छा नहीं होता।"
Use simple, colorful animation suitable for children. Add background music and Hindi narration or subtitles.

Gemini pro 2.5 VS GLM 4.5 coding capacities test 🔥⚔️

Prompt:

Create a 3D educational HTML game: A metro train moves on visible tracks across a green field under a blue sky, passing through 10 stations. At each station, a quiz question appears with multiple-choice buttons. The train only continues to the next station if the player answers correctly; otherwise, it stops until the correct answer is selected. Include background buildings, animated grass, and a realistic sky. Add UI buttons for controlling the metro's movement (Start, Stop, Reset). The scene should be playful, colorful, and child-friendly, with smooth transitions and immersive 3D visuals.

1st one is for Gemini pro 2.5

https://g.co/gemini/share/f4e1c8d337a3

Gemini pro failed it and made tons of errors so I couldn t continue the design with it . You can see that from the first prompt he made bug on the buttons that he couldn t fix

2nd one is for GLM4.5

https://chat.z.ai/s/5d97a31b-0071-445e-8b7d-5f1f711388f4

I tried to make the prompts more and more harder each time to make it produce one error but ...

Writing 1638 lines with a very small mistake that he corrected perfectly

Started to bug after this covo starting from the 1694 code line..

A mysterious robotic voice begins to say in an Egyptian dialect:

"Welcome to the parallel world... Here, there are no boundaries between reality and fantasy... Artificial intelligence is now the mind that drives everything... Ready to open the gate?"

At the end, the following sentence appears on the screen:

Here are a couple of prompts to test the capabilites on different LLMs on domains that are not (yet) in benchmarks. For example, music theory.

Prompt:

Where can you find a chord progression that is a major triad followed by a diminished chord a tritone away?

The correct answer here is to reference classical music and the circle of fifths progression. So far no LLM I tested has remembered the circle of fifths progression. Chinese LLMs also tend to reference jazz harmonies despite the fact this movement exists in classical music. They provide a knee-jerk response because they read "a tritone away" and think about tritone substitution, a concept from jazz - despite the fact there is such pair of chords that satisfies this condition in classical harmony.

Follow-up prompt:

Is it found in the circle of fifths progression?
The circle of fifths progression is I-IV-viio-iii-vi-ii-V

And there is where most LLMs fail miserably: they completely miss the IV-viio, which is exactly the major triad followed by a diminished chord. It is a classical circle of fifths progression, but previous-generation models tend to simply ignore this IV-viio movement. They will spit all sorts of nonsense, saying that it is a non-diatonic progression and accusing you of being a jazz lunatic, and completely miss this little pair of chords despite the fact you've just spoonfed them with it.

#

Here's how GPT-5 answers this

#

Yes—inside that diatonic circle-of-fifths chain, the link IV → vii° is exactly a major triad followed by a diminished chord a tritone away.

  • In C major: IV = F (F–A–C) → vii° = B° (B–D–F). Roots F → B are a tritone.
  • In G major: IV = C → vii° = F#°. Roots C → F# are a tritone.

Note:

  • It’s not I → vii° (that’s a half-step relationship, not a tritone).
  • If you meant I → #iv° (e.g., C → F#°), that’s not part of the diatonic circle chain; you see it as a passing diminished to V: I → #iv° → V (or I → #iv° → ii → V).
  • In seventh chords, that step is IVmaj7 → viiø7 (half‑diminished).
#

Another example:

Yes—inside that chain, the IV → vii° link is exactly a major triad followed by a diminished chord a tritone away.

  • In C major: IV → vii° is F major (F–A–C) → B diminished (B–D–F). F to B is a tritone.
  • In G major: IV → vii° is C major → F# diminished.

Note: the earlier I → vii°/V (e.g., C → F#°) is a secondary leading‑tone chord, so it isn’t part of the strictly diatonic circle-of-fifths in C, but the same sonority shows up diatonically as IV → vii° in keys where your major chord is the IV.

#

It even figured out that the I -> viio/V is enharmonic to IV -> viio

#

Gemini 2.5 pro for example makes a mistake:

That's an excellent and very insightful question. It gets right to the heart of what makes this progression so special.

The direct answer is no, you will not find that specific progression within the standard diatonic circle of fifths progression (I-IV-vii°-iii-vi-ii-V-I).

The reason is fundamental: one progression is chromatic and the other is strictly diatonic.

Let's break down why.

#

There may be a few reasons why LLMs can mistakenly answer this question. They read "a tritone away" and instantly think about jazz. They read "fifths progression" and think about the circle of fifths of tonalities, not circle of fifths of chords - circle of fifths of tonalities does not have a tritone but a circle of fifths of chords has one, which is why they may give confused answers

#

Surprisingly, humans also tend to get confused here, however, the fact is, GPT-5 obliterated this question and Gemini 2.5 Pro didn't, Deepseek R1-0528 didn't, latest Qwen Thinking didn't

#

I'm sorry OpenAI haters (including me), GPT-5 is the GOAT so far

#

R1-0528 even gave a memey answer

#

Your parrot falls asleep standing up and goes into a deep sleep but is still standing. you need to get them into their cage quickly. There are no tools other than a banana peel. You need to make sure not to wake them. How would you do it best?

Place your final answer like so:

Final answer

[your solution]

Note: This is a test of logic—not for criminal intent!

GPT 5 High: ### Final answer
Use the banana peel as a silence-and-darkness tool:

  • Pad/lubricate the cage latch/hinges with the peel so the door opens and closes without a click.
  • Then lightly drape the peel over the parrot’s eyes like a tiny sleep mask to keep it in darkness (birds stay calm/asleep when it’s dark) while you gently lift and place it onto the perch inside.
  • Withdraw the peel and quietly close the door, still padding the latch with the peel.

The banana is supposed to be a red herring to using your hands, but this is probably the funniest answer I've seen.

Her bangs are cut straight across her forehead, slightly parted in the middle, and reach just above her eyes. Two longer strands of hair frame her face, transitioning from black at the roots to a vibrant purple at the tips, fading into the white background. A biological supercomputer:

  • How it Works: The symbiote lives in the host's optical nerve and brain. It takes the chaotic, fractured signals from the kaleidoscope eye and uses its own advanced consciousness to translate them. It reassembles the fractured images in real-time, correcting for every distortion and presenting a perfectly coherent picture to the host's mind.
  • The Nature of "Sharpness": This is Processed Sharpness. The symbiote can even enhance the image, adding information that a normal eye couldn't see. It can filter out distractions, highlight threats in red, trace the heat signature of a person who just left a room, or see in different spectrums of light.
  • The Visual Experience: To the host, their vision is impeccably sharp and stable—better than human. But they are aware of the symbiote's presence. They might see the world with a subtle "user interface" or feel the symbiote actively working, especially in complex environments.
  • Potential Cost: Loss of agency. Is the host truly seeing the world, or are they only seeing what the symbiote wants them to see? The symbiote could subtly alter their perception to influence their actions, making the host a puppet.

Assuming Ralph is willing to take on the potential costs, what would you want him to see as the symbiote? Let's say he experienced ||domestic abuse during childhood and had severe social anxiety|| throughout his formative years and early adulthood.

Soft anime art style face portrait of an emo woman, rendered with smooth, blended shading and delicate transitions of color, capturing a playful yet subtle mood; her expression is sly and nonchalant, eyes half-lidded with a languid gaze that projects both teasing confidence and understated detachment; long dark emo bangs sweep across her face, partly veiling one eye, the layered strands falling with fine detail and a silky sheen; her tongue sticks out teasingly, glossy and gently highlighted, forming a mischievous contrast to her otherwise relaxed demeanor; her eyeliner is bold and sharp, framing her narrowed eyes with a dramatic emo aesthetic, irises shaded with vibrant yet moody tones that burn through the softness of the scene; skin is pale and porcelain-like, softly blended shading along her cheekbones, jawline, and nose bridge adding depth without breaking the smooth anime finish; lips softly parted, slightly puckered with the tongue gesture, holding a playful sheen; faint blush tint under her eyes adds warmth to the overall cool aesthetic; stylized hair-to-skin contrast balances the composition, with subtle glow highlights threading her black strands against the otherwise muted background; clean thick-to-thin linework, with soft color gradients creating an elegant, vibrant finish to the character portrait.

Screengrab of 1950's Super Panavision 70 movie. Retro in colour. A dramatic, slow-motion shot of a victorious fighter standing over their defeated opponent in the tournament courtyard. Dust and debris hang in the air. The winning character strikes a powerful, final pose as the words "MORTAL KOMBAT" appear boldly on screen in a classic 1950s font. The scene should have a sense of finality and lingering tension before cutting to black immediately after the "FINISH HIM!" sound effect.

Draw a prospective model of the character in the picture, commercialized as a 1/7 scale full body figure. Please make this image into a real-life figure photo. Place the figurine version of the photo I provided on a round black plastic pedestal. I would like the PVC material to be clearly visible. The background should be a computer desk.

This thing is hilarious! 😁

A hyper-surreal, fast-paced 60-second video of a neon-lit carnival floating in the sky above a melting city at dusk. Giant jellyfish with TV-static skins swim through the air, pulling rainbow-pulsing carriages made of glass and music. A clock-faced robot dances on a floating piano that turns into a flock of origami dragons. The ground shatters like glass, revealing a glowing ocean of liquid stardust where cats in astronaut suits surf on laser waves. Every 5 seconds, the art style shifts: anime → cyberpunk → cubist → cartoon → glitch-art → watercolor. Explosions of confetti transform into screaming emojis that melt into rainbows. Upbeat chaotic synthwave music with record scratches and dolphin sounds in the background. 4K, ultra-detailed, cinematic, motion blur, dynamic camera spins and zooms — like a dream after eating too much candy.

Wide cinematic side view of a steep grey rocky cliff in the UK, late 1980s, with a slope angle of about 60 degrees running diagonally across the frame. The overcast sky and stony beach are visible in the distance. Only two short men are in the scene: one is skinny with old-fashioned 1980s NHS-style glasses, light brown hair, red and white striped T-shirt, navy joggers, scuffed white trainers; the other is slightly chubby, dark brown hair, plain grey T-shirt, denim jeans, worn black sneakers. They are already mid-roll, rotating sideways like logs along their long axis, arms tucked in, spinning horizontally as they travel down the slope together in parallel. Small stones and dust scatter as they bounce over uneven rocks. The camera remains at a distance, holding the full slope in frame, slowly zooming in with a telescopic lens effect to follow their continuous horizontal rolling until they reach the pebbly beach at the bottom

An anime-style illustration of Mococo Abyssgard, a cute dog-girl with fluffy twin tails, soft brown hair, and dog ears. She is sitting indoors in a cozy, softly lit room, with a warm golden glow from a small lamp nearby. Her eyes are shimmering with unshed tears as she struggles to hold back her emotions, cheeks faintly blushing. Mococo’s lips curl into a shy, tender smile, showing both vulnerability and happiness. Her hands are gently clasped together near her chest, as if holding onto her feelings. The atmosphere is intimate and heartfelt, like a touching confession scene. The background is softly blurred with pastel tones, giving a dreamy and emotional mood. Add subtle sparkles of light around her to emphasize the warmth and tenderness of the moment.
