One method that'll also help if you're not seeing the stop button, is start a new chat session and send a prompt, quickly go back to the chat session that's broken, and the stop button should be there and working.

@primal orbit For agent mode not working, if you can provide more information about what happens when it crashes, and the Eval ID for the chat session (random set of numbers/letters in the URL) to #1495352743555108864 that'd be ideal. This bug is likely already on our radar, but it's helpful to still see.

The way the system is setup is the prompt being sent + verification check happening happen at the same time.
