Lets you choose how the replay is viewed -> Opponents ping, server side or your ping
That should let you:

  • see if on their or your ping hits should be possibile or not
  • rewatch it from your own pov allowing for a more percise analysis
  • understand the impact of ping better
  • be more sure before accusing of cheating just by how it seemed in the match

Though it might be inaccurate or hard to implement as the ping varies a lot during the fight and saving the file with the ping of both players for every tick (which still may not be accurate enough) might increase the file size of the replay

Could you please rephrase

Like even when the ping is the same there is a latency from the opponent pov and your pov

But you will definitely be able to switch povs/spectate the match in a replay.

But you couldn't replicate it like if it was lan where the ping is basically 0 so there would be a difference, no

🧬 Netcode Improvements

To reduce the effects of ping and make the game feel much smoother on cross region fights, we're developing a full upgrade to Minecraft's netcode. Essentially, we're reworking how the client and server run the world and deal with ping.

It's going to be so minimal that's you won't even really realize it.

#

I'm not sure tho because the replay will basically replicate all the fights "virtually" so it will have a specific set ping.

#

It's going to be like flashback mod.

Nah don't worry about it.

#

Best possible scenario: we don't need this because there aren't ping problems.

#

Worst possible scenario: people lag a lot not because of ranked but just wifi at home and we might need this
