#Struggling with aim

I've been playing Minecraft since 5 years, actively pvping since about 3 1/2 Years. From different practice servers, to learning techniques, to ?unlearning techniques shortly after, I never got a hold of anything before it slipped away. But I was improving, although extremely slowly. But one constant I never managed to chane was my aim. From 10% to 100% sens, from my dpi to getting a new mouse, to changing my entire setup to getting a new mousepad, even tweaking every single setting possible never made my aim better. I misplaced blocks, simply missed opponents and misclicked items when hotkeying them quickly.

How can I improve? I genuinely went through everything I can imagine, just wanted to get this out there for the chance there is someone with anything to help me in my dilemma.

Probably the worst example this morning, I usually aim a little better, but still its around this level: https://medal.tv/games/minecraft/clips/lxrBS47WuI-iT3M8n?invite=cr-MSw4eTMsMzk5ODM3NTYy

in that clip, a big issue was you not actually looking at them when hitting

#

delaying your left click until you’re actually looking at them is a start

#

but have you tried practicing? i see you’ve mentioned changing every setting imaginable but not actually sticking to one

#

find a setting you’re comfortable with and stick to it, doing deliberate practice often

Is pointer acceleration the same thing? I'm on linux. I don't have problems with aim

Nope, not that I know of.

sens and all that doesnt really matter

#

I can use any sens any dpi to the same effect after aim training

wind flicker
#

Aim Training turned out to be the solution. Daily 1hr.

#

Make sure to understand what youre doing wrong whilst aim training

#

Dont make it a habit to train your aim incorrectly

#

Watching back footage of the aim session through your respective replay system will help you a ton in discovering what youre doing wrong

@wind flicker bro

#

first use 800 dpi and a mc sence from 40 -> 60 )these are usually the smoothest

#

when ur hitting dont try to time

#

have ur crosshair on the player then hit

#

also, download aimlabs and train on there before playing mc

wind flicker
#

It's gotten a lot better now that I have done aim trainers, and those other tips I have also used to improve

make sure u have a big enough mouse pad

Its just preference

#

too fast of a sens will u have u over shoot, too low will have u struggle with strafers

#

800 dpi is the avg and good enough for cursor speed in windows too

shut dust
#

I currently play on 1600 dpi 61%-120%

#

And I got tier 2 pot in that

for an avg person they prob dont wanna train to adapt to such a higher sens even if it is just better

wise python
#

if u normally play with higher sens it makes aiming easier

Higher dpi and sens = less control

#

It really isnt

#

I read all the aim science out there

#

Its very irrelevant to aiming capability

#

What it does impact

#

Is whether youre aiming

#

With your wrist

#

Or arm

#

More

frail heart
#

It is. There is a certain range where, if you bypass it, you will no longer be able to stay consistent with your aim

shut dust
#

Lower sens means more likelyhood to aim with arm

#

I knew a few players who used hyperspeed in 1.8

#

And were very great players

#

Now this is gearing more towards anecdotal of course

#

But it doesnt necessarily mean its untrue

#

And actually if you go into the deeper root of aim theory. Itd theoretically be better to play on higher dpi/polling rate since its more accurate and gives you a faster response time

shut dust
#

But its a pretty safe bet to say 1600 dpi is the best dpi in terms of accuracy

pallid kindle
#

but the thing is

#

youve played for years so u will obv adapt

#

and at a competitive lvl too

#

the avg playey wont be using such a high sens and will stick to something controllable

#

such as less than 100 sens

Ye I've been doing PvP for about 6/7 months now (like actually, I'll just say 6 months then) and I still can't aim. This is my biggest flaw in gamemodes like mace and sword

#

Even tho mace is one of my mains

#

Crazy

#

Simply is correct that sensitivity is largely based on preference. Nor would changing it have much an issue with your aim, muscle memory in terms of your aiming via dpi and sens is a myth

shut dust
#

Dont get me wrong though, aim without prediction will be super inconsistent so it is fairly important

#

But it goes the same way on the other side

#

As in prediction without aim will be terrible aswell

#

(By prediction, im referring to the brain’s subconscious ability to simulate what might happen next and adjust accordingly not conscious prediction )

indigo gyro
#

The hitboxes for mc are simply massive

#

So no need to aim all that much

#

And yeah, you do mostly just predict where they will be as you mentioned

#

Which is ofc a part of aiming

#

But is different enough to give distinction

i think timong your hits is a big problem. you can get crosshair indicator mod to get a feel for when to click. also i would slightly lower tou sensitivity by like 10% and stick to it as you are over flicking a lot

#

i think you should just play your favourite gamemode to improve or any gamemode you find fun. its hard to stay motivated doing something boring and if your not motivated you cant improve
