I have always been curious why alt accounts are banned on things like this, I genuinely have no idea what's wrong with training on two separate accounts. What problems does that create, why is this wrong? Also what if someone wants to switch accounts and stops playing on the other, could they still be banned for alt accounts?

Most times people do it because they got banned for cheating and they want to play again but this won’t be possible on PvP ranked

Reason 1: Punishment Evasion
Alt accounts are commonly used as a way to evade punishments.
Reason 2: Competitive Integrity and Rank Devaluation
Allowing players to use alt accounts severely affects competitive integrity and causes Rank Devaluation. This occurs in several ways:

• A highly skilled player may create an account specifically to destroy lower level players.
• The tiers would suffer from rank inflation or deflation, meaning the tiers no longer accurately represent a player's true skill level.
  Reason 3: Boosting
  Players could boost themselves or their friends with a bunch of alts.
  Ultimately, the integrity of the "ranked" aspect is compromised. A player who achieves a rank like lt3 would no longer know if they are truly a top ~30% player, or if the entire system is generally inflated or deflated.

You are able to train on other accounts, you just can't play ranked with those alt accounts.
