I wanna hear your opinions on how to separate the CC roles and Beta Roles. Obviously they play very important parts in the company & the public eye. So have a think first on what suggestions to make.

Please take in to consideration that some CCs have both CC and Beta roles and it would be optimal to be able to display this if possible.

The way it is set currently is moving Beta above CCs keep the roles "unified" but also separate, however its clear to see that its caused an issue (as people feel CCs should be above Beta testers as they are the Public face, understandable) and confusion with the CC tag being removed from CCs.

So the goal is to make it so the confusion is gone and everything is as it should be.

Please be clear and concise with your suggestions. and stick to this thread to discuss it (please keep on topic)

Ccs should be above Betas. If they are both give them a separate role like “partner” or something that everyone knows they are both.

My suggestion would be that CC should be seen more than BETA testers. I would have CC above those who are BETA. Just reverse what is currently there 🙂

Truthfully though... this game wouldn't be what it is without its "community members" regardless of Beta or CC tag 🤷‍♀️

Some of us are duals. Which makes us CC and Beta. Description’s get confused a lot.

You could create a new role for dual but thats just making roles for no reason.

If both have CC and BETA and you make the CC role above BETA then those with both ill show as CC. When you click on a person's profile in discord you can see all the roles that person has been given

I disagree but we each have our own opinions haha. I think betas do a lot more than what people actually see and should be recognized for that. They test the games before they are released, patches etc to try and catch bugs to be fixed before launching.

If the role doesnt do anything, then why does CC’s have that role too?

Can I be absolutely honest?

For me, personally, I have no opinion. I just don't mind it one way or the other. Both roles are super important and both should be recognized, if possible. But I'm not super concerned about it for myself.

I would say as a beta tester I really don't care about my placement on the list because at the end of the day I want the game to be great and amazing for the community.
I feel like good CCs would agree with this statement as well.
Both play absolute pivotal role in the games growth and development.

@urban atlas I have both because I started at launch in demo days as a beta then went up to CC and was offered both. Which I agreed to. Beta testing is fun lol CCs just are the face of the community and push the updates and games hyping people up. CCs don’t get maps and stuff before Betas.

I agree, however that the roles need to be separated for those who have both of them. If someone is a CC and Beta tester, then CC should be first and foremost shown as it can cause confusion. If it were to make things easier, I'd be willing ot give up Beta testing for the simplicity of only having one role. Not because I'm not good at either one, but I like being a CC lol.

Not only the confusion but it allows newer player, as ScotsQueen had mentioned earlier, to find the streamers and get a good look at the game and possibly learn something.

Like does it really matter if you are a cc or a beta tester we work in tandem to make the game better and drive it forward we can play nice in the sandbox

One last thing while my opinions are flowing in my brain: I don't think adding a new role for the dual roles here would reduce confusion. I think the initial discussion was having a tough time finding the Content Creators, which I agree with. so for those with both roles, make Beta testing a secondary role for CC's.
And that is all the brain cells I have for today.

For what it’s worth, here’s my take:

No one is above anyone here. Both Beta and CC have important roles in improving the game: whether that’s breaking things to help fix them, or giving the game exposure by creating content around it. Without one, the other really has no purpose. And none of us would have a purpose being here without the group and the community as a whole.

If the goal is to alleviate any “confusion,” it might make sense for the CC tag to show above Beta, since CC is a more public facing role while Beta work happens behind the scenes. But honestly, I personally don’t care. I love this game and will continue to play it and do what I do regardless of which little tag shows next to my name.

If anyone deserves extra acknowledgment, it’s Patrick and Mr. GNV for everything they do for the game and for this group as a whole. I hope you both know how much you’re appreciated. 🖤

To me it doesn’t matter who’s d*** is bigger. It’s all about supporting the game. People on the outside def don’t care if a cc or a beta is more important. They just want to play a fun game. So to me both roles are equally important, and depend on each other for the success of the game

Just remember that folks stream this game who are not CCs like I stream it quite regularly. I bring folks here as well.
They do fill two separate roles but we should be collaborative.

I don’t think anyone here has discredited any role, to be fair. These are all very valid points. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter who is placed where. It’s just a Discord server, and the ranking in the server list doesn’t reflect the importance of any role to the game. I could move my own role under Explorer and it wouldn’t make me any less important either.

The ultimate goal here is simply to figure out what’s least confusing for players, and I’m sure that’s what everyone is aiming for 😄

I think a role for both combined that says official supporter makes it very clear. Like everyone loves the game or you wouldn't be here but CCs and Beta testers both push the game because we believe in the vision

I went into a random (not in discord) persons stream the other day! They were talking to me and their teammate said I was a beta for the game. I had to clarify I was cc. It’s different. While yes I am a beta tester, if it’s not correctly identified that I’m a CC it confuses people.

On a serious note, as a player, I can see the amazing work Patrick has done in the amount of time I've played the game. He definitely has a good team behind him and that's y'all. I'm just happy y'all love the game so much and it shows!
