#Give pipes their accurate pitch range

Right now, every pipe is locked to a uniform 5-octave range. This introduces a few technical and design issues:

  • Manual Alignment: These 5 octaves don't naturally align with a traditional organ manual (C to C). To fix this, players have to rely heavily on resultants or reusing pipes.
  • Block Bloat: The same pipe type requires multiple block variations just to cover different pitches (needing separate blocks for a 4' and 8' Principal).
  • Audio Distortion & Lack of Authenticity: Because the range is concrete, some sample data has to be heavily extrapolated (such as extending the subbass multiple octaves higher than the organs sampled provide). This leads to unrealistic audio artifacts and misinformed setups (like players using extrapolated subbass samples in the upper registers instead of a gedeckt).

So I propose:
Instead of 5 octaves for everything, I propose giving each distinct pipe family an accurate, consolidated range of notes it would actually speak.

For example:

  • Principals: A single "Principal" pipe block could cover the combined span of 32', 16', 8', 4', and 2' ranks.
  • Subbass: This would only contain the typical pedal notes (like the standard 32 notes starting at C1, or rounded up to the most inclusive F# if the mod's current boundaries require it).
  • Trompette / Clairon: A separate clairon block wouldnt be needed because the Trompette range could be extended upward to cover the 4' range, as their physical pipe anatomy is identical.

Why This Helps the Mod:

  • Fewer Assets: It cuts down on the number of unique blocks and duplicate pipe variations needed.
  • Accurate Audio Quality: Because these ranges mirror real-world ranks, finding accurate, clean sample data is much easier. No need to rely on extreme pitch manipulation or extrapolation.
  • Authenticity: It naturally guides players toward building realistic, accurate pipe organs without accidental audio distortion, actually guiding them through organ building.

This would also complement a pipe visual/size rework, which would be great to have as well, but that is a completely separate suggestion in itself.
