#game lagging violently

- have you seen the slime creature before this point with no lag?
- what do the surroundings look like? i can't quite tell what biome it is
- did you use any item before it started to lag?
- yes i saw the gel before in the personal qualia and a ||goo|| entity in the main world
- its like the big pit biome with the checkered blocks and pits but filled with water
- no the gel was on the edge of my render distance and when i went over to kill it my game started lagging i set all the graphic settings to zero and it still didnt do anything so it probably doesnt have anything to do with that
- have you been in the checkerboard water biome before without issues?
- could you post all of the logs in %APPDATA%/lucid blocks/logs
- yes i think so
have you save/quit the world yet?
yep multiple times
if so, did it lag again if you opened it back up?
yes :[ i really dont want to lose my world
would it help if i put it up on the firmament for you to look at
OKOK great, can you send the save file so i can see whats up? it should be in
yes actually
that would be easier
did it work?
or should i just directly send the files
nope it was put up successfully
downloaded it, looking into it now
LOL for some reason there are like 5500 boids spawned
oh my god where
UNSURE... but i killed them all
unzip and put the 76f10... folder inside %APPDATA%/lucid blocks/qualia
i can also upload it to the firmament but doing it manually is necessary to keep progression enabled (cutscene blocks and item discovery)
in the meantime i will try to figure out why the game decided to spawn 5000 boids
thank youu
was the lag bad but reasonable when you first noticed the issue?
or was it IMMEDIATELY crippling
i believe i found the issue; basically, boids/fish have a flag that spawns multiple copies around itself (that is how 3-5 clump up when you see them). but that flag defaults to true, so if you save/load the game (like you did several times), they will duplicate themselves each time and make the lag worse
a bug makes them spawn at (0, 0, 0) which is suspiciously close to where you were when it lagged out
but if they werent nearby how were you able to find them
i didnt kill them manually, i edited the code a little to spawnkill them and then resaved your file
ok but why did they still lag the game even when i lowered my render distance
