The current iteration of the game is rather audibly bland. I believe it would be good for the game if there were more ambient sounds being played. While the occasional shooting and automated voice are nice, they do not feel like they are enough. One idea I had was the faint sound of a distant horde. This would help sell the idea introduced in the game that this base is struggling and in a bit of a hotzone. Additionally, hearing the zombies that the guards are gunning down would also be nice. Another thing related to ambience could be giving the guards and civilians routines, as they feel a bit static right now. They do not have to be dynamic of course, but having them do something other than just idling would be very appreciated.

I agree, also the scenery change (weather change). It does not have to be sunny but maybe more rain, less rain, little foggy, more/less thunders and lightings. Add like 4-5 types of weather phenomena and put randomizer which selects 2-3 of those on different intensity.

But thats a bit of a tangent

#

I just feel like the zone feels too quiet and too lifeless now (which tbf is to be expected in the early stages of the game !!!!)

#

Better ambience means better atmosphere imo, and it’d be cool to see the atmosphere get more intense in general

#

Additionally, maybe as the days pass, survivors could come in with more ragged/apocalyptic clothing

#

And perhaps the sounds of the infected get worse and worse as the world outside continues to fall

true, add different ambience how the time passes, also clothing and everything u said. Aswell on the topic of sounds and weather it would be cool that more extreme weather amplifies the aggression and turnover ratio.

I literally wanted to suggest NPC routines since they are too stationary

#

Also could add background sounds of a survivor screaming

Chores are 100% a major factor in zombie survival, and seeing other people pick up the slack (at least visually) would be nice

#

Another idea I had is if there is horde ambience, maybe as the checkpoint expands and gets better, the horde ambience is drowned out under things like chatter and whatnot, to show the improvement

More funni sound effects that could be used:

  • Glass breaking
  • Guards talking to eachother
  • Different zombie groans
  • Zombie shrieks
  • Fences rattling
  • Birds above
  • Cat hissing / Dog barking
  • Survivor chatter

Maybe more drawn out sequences of gunfire too (more rare, obv)

And also diffrent kinds of gunfire

#

since the soldiers aren't the only one with guns

#

and guns do sound diffrent

I’d also like to see more vehicle noises

#

Maybe like survivors gunning it down the road, or if society is still around, crisis relief planes flying out to drop supplies somewhere else or something
