oh i am not sure why the original message got deleted:..

Well in short Form.

Really need help with this Chart:

  • FHP and Handshapes on the Guitars, alot of Arpeggio Acustic Styles

  • ignore Lead FHPs i accidently just deleted them they are now Auto generated Sweatge

  • bass should be fine (there is a long part in the interlude before the solo with no bass, thinking about adding at least the root notes from the Acoustic Guitar, but not sure)

  • would love to hear feedback on the Tones especially the Lead Tone
( given up on WAH Sounds but i think it still sounds really great)

  • ignore the Bonus Rhythm just a place holder atm for another arrangement no FHP/Handshapes (will add them when i am happy with them on ather Parts

  • and i know there are some errors in CDLC Maker will fixx them tomorrow

sick sapphire
#

cool, will try to get to this tonight or this weekend at the latest 🙂

rich haven
#

i will try to fix the FHP on Lead till then!

sick sapphire
#

Yeah it would be best to get things as close as you can to being done before sharing for feedback otherwise I can’t properly comment on what might need fixing or not

#

Don’t wanna tell you things you’re already aware of either

rich haven
#

ya i had it done and then things happened lul

serene pebble
#

youre going to do one of two things

#

rush things out the door and get them reported for stupid mistakes

#

or burn yourself out all together

#

or both

#

youre overextending yourself (and this isnt the first time ive told you this)

rich haven
#

@serene pebble allright o7 i will delete this one for now until i have the chart in shape. i will let it up just some time so you can see the message

serene pebble
#

You don’t need to delete it

#

You do need to focus on your other charts

rich haven
#

i just leave it up @sick sapphire but no hurry we can work on one song at a time. Just wanted to post the version before you check out the incomplete one.

#

and @serene pebble
because i was rightfully blocked on ignition to upload charts i was told to post my charts i work on here. and i just worked down my comission list while i had time. Thats why I had so many Charts up. From now on i will only post the charts where i need help and feedback like this chart.
The older ones were basicly the ones I had to post so I understand how to chart for the Charting Standards. apologies for uploading so many.
I will post less now 🙂

serene pebble
#

Yes, but you’re posting them and you’re not even ready for feedback on them yet

#

I’m just trying to make sure you’re not overwhelming yourself

#

You have almost 400 charts on your account, Rome wasn’t built in a day and these don’t need to all be fixed in one either

first thing off the bat I disagree with is this tone, it doesn't sound particularly good and it's not an acoustic guitar for this part anyway, it's electric guitar. The tone should be accurate to the song and use a clean electric guitar tone of some kind.

#

lyric mispelling here

#

those 2 double stops that are partial D chords should be handshaped to the D chord, and also the fingering should stay consistent, right now it changes to finger 2 on the B string when it gets to those:

#

and again it seems the tone change to acoustic should be a clean electric guitar instead. this acoustic tone is a bit overwhelming regardless, it's got a tone of reverb and some octave 12-string like effects, so that doesnt match this part in this song

#

some more logical handshape grouping should be done for this part too. the chord names are also somewhat cluttered and unnecessary and a bit wrong so we need to simplify those once we have the handshapes grouped properly. then again like the ONE OK ROCK song, we've got a chord slide which should marked with handshapes on both sides

#

this single 3B note, that green one there, as you see has a little sustain that should be removed

#

at least in this part an acoustic tone is more accurate as finally we have an acoustic guitar part being played but I'd probably reduce the reverb, and reduce volume a little

#

I don't mind the octave effect that gives it that 12 string sound here I think I hear that on the recording so that's fine

#

Here, I am glad you have handshaped this part, but those chord names would need to be removed as you can probably see in the screenshot how cluttered and unnecessary they are. Just remember all chord names inside of a handshaped should be suppressed after the first initial chord name

#

consider for this though as a general rocksmith approach, tabs such as this as they may look decent on a tab/ sheet music, in rocksmith don't offer much to the player that repeat strums wouldn't, in fact it makes it much harder to read. For this part I'd simplify all the partial E chords to a single full E major chord using all 6 strings and just let the natural strumming accomplish the partial chords here

#

I'd take this approach for all the D and G major chords for this whole section and some other moments throughout the song as well

#

those should all just be the same full E, G, and D chords

#

so we can simply see repeat strums

#

and won't have to worry about removing chord names either

#

there's a few phrases that need some additional splitting. this one and the one longer one a few phrases later

#

I'd also tweak some of the phrase locations too

#

should have been a phrase change here for example

#

really listen to the music and when the part is changing and when it feels like it's starting a new section or musical idea

#

where the solo starts should 100 percent be the start of a new phrase

#

remove sustain on this note please

#

not sure if that 11G slide destination note has any sustain tail at all yet but it needs a little more regardless, while still leaving a reasonable gap before the proceeding not of course

#

same here with the 14B slide destination but you are also missing some FHP changes for the sliding.

#

you should be on FHP10 before the slide then slide up to FHP12 so your first finger is in place to reach the 12B

#

looking at it you simply just added the FHP change in the wrong spot, need to change FHP on the slide not before it

#

change to FHP3 on that open string 0B-0e double stop instead of on the hammer on part after it. you slide down anyway and we want to avoid changing FHP on a hammer on too

#

all these should have handshape markings on their slide destinations just like any sliding chords

#

you can group them in to the next chord if they are in a similar fingering/ fret

#

I have a suspicion all these are fingered with middle finger though and not pointer

#

I think that's a good place to start for now but I'd like to see it again after all your next edits if you don't mind there's probably more to talk about once it's in a bit better place

#

Let me know about tone changes because I know you already used 4... I think to be able to use a clean electric tone as well you'll have to reduce the lead and the lead low tone to just 1 lead tone. it didn't do all the much for me IMO anyway that the 2nd lead tone wouldn't by itself

rich haven
#

holy! thanks for the feedback in detail! i will probably work threw it tomorros or on monday!

sick sapphire
#

Hope it all makes sense, I’d be happy to clarify things if you have questions! I love the song thanks for charting it, I hope to help get it to a state of high quality for everyone to really enjoy it 🙂

rich haven
#

yes if any questions come up i will ask!

rich haven
# sick sapphire first thing off the bat I disagree with is this tone, it doesn't sound particula...

lul yaaa absolutely true i watched so much of this live video, that i didnt even think about it that its not an acoustic on the record https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2W87qkkkoE

sick sapphire
#

sweet. the acoustic tone is gonna be used in the middle of the song though so unfortunately I think you'll have to condense the lead and low lead tones into 1 but I think it'll be fine like I said

rich haven
#

ja i will work through your feedback now

rich haven
#

i mean how do i do it manually if its not done ingame

#

on top i see the [/] thats probably the chordname being repeated ingame

sick sapphire
#

you remove chord names by naming the manually as " " (spacebar)

#

but

#

check my next notes because I don't think all these should be different chord fragments, you should simplify them to all be the full chord

rich haven
#

ahhh okay

#

there is probably not a simplify button in EOF Keepo ?

sick sapphire
#

what do you think 😏

#

best I can offer is select multiple chords and edit them all to be the same chord

#

hopefully you understand what I mean. make them all a full 6 string E chord in this case with no ghost notes or partial chords

#

can remove the handshape at that point too since it would be redundant

rich haven
#

ya so like this right?

sick sapphire
#

but you wont need to worry about chord names in that case anyway

#

yes that's good for the D chord

sick sapphire
sick sapphire
#

i'd probably make that last 0-2-3 chord a regular D too

rich haven
#

ya just thought about that

#

Would you simplify the single G4s within the handshape or leave them in this case?

sick sapphire
#

I think maybe leave that part how it is

rich haven
#

and in case of the E Chor i think maybe leaving out the last beat or can i do it all together here?

sick sapphire
#

hmm

#

maybe leave this last section intact...

#

but handshaped to the rest of the E chords

#

sorry I know this is specific and hard to understand right now

rich haven
#

nahh its good

#

if i learn it once properly i know how to work it out the next time

#

looks like this now

sick sapphire
#

yeah I feel pretty good about how that looks.. except for that first area

#

also

#

you're gonna have to supress this chord name

#

so press n and add a space to the name

rich haven
#

So in this part i also would not simplify it but supress the second D5 accord name?

sick sapphire
#

that one's a little tougher

#

do you think you hear that 2G note at the end clearly?

#

or would strumming the same chord that whole time really sound just as accurate

#

I'm leaning towards simplifying it again but idk

rich haven
#

ya i think its to hard to tell, tried to listen to it on the Guitar Stem but cant tell

#

but on the other parts i always transcribed it at least as a strumm with an open D string

rich haven
#

how exactly do i handshape this?

#

i tried to split them like other chrods handshape and then linknext the technote

#

but i dont know why the E0 appears 😄

#

dont know if this can be ignored

sick sapphire
#

Just handshape it to the next chord

#

The E0 appears because a handshape has to be 2 notes at least

#

But in this case just group the next chord with it

rich haven
#

so like this?

#

now it looks like one big handshape KEKW

#

ah wait i think i got it

sick sapphire
#

yeah all separate not like that

#

you're gonna have to unlink them first

#

I think you get that part though

rich haven
sick sapphire
#

yeah

#

one more slight thing though

#

since you're not hammering on the open string

#

you should either remove the open string and make it just a hammer on 3B

#

or

#

tech note hammer on for the 3B

rich haven
sick sapphire
#

that looks good what does the tab show btw though?

#

ah ha

#

I found it

#

so in this case

#

you're gonna wanna remove the 0e from the hammer on note

#

and then

#

handshape the single 3B to the next chord

#

I had a suspicion that was what was going on

rich haven
sick sapphire
#

yeah, that's fine at this point you don't need the hammer on tech note anymore and you could just use normal hammer on status on that note/ chord but I think how it is works perfectly fine now too

#

oh uh

#

remove sustain on the hammer on note

#

since it's techinically a single note right now

rich haven
#

ah i've got another question

#

so

#

on the solo i obviously want to start the solo phrase close to it. so here i would have to shorten the handshape on the left so i can set it there right?

#

with mover it also tells me that a handshapre crosses into another phrase

#

if i would do it like this i would not get an error

sick sapphire
#

I think what you have in the last screenshot technically works but also

#

you can put a moveR1 phrase on beat 1 of measure 82

#

doesnt matter that it intersects a handshape

#

since your phrase wont actually be there

#

also don't forget you still want to have a FHP anchor at the start of your phrase, so that means if you use moveR phrase make sure to add the FHP anchor where the phrase truly is, not where the moveR phrase is currently placed

rich haven
#

so in this case i can ignore it?

#

whoops

sick sapphire
#

it doesnt automatically move the FHP anchor sadly

sick sapphire
#

I can ask about that in a future update maybe

rich haven
#

ah okay good!

rich haven
sick sapphire
#

this sustain tail should be removed

#

ok I know I didn't say so last time but it seems the tone should switch back to acoustic in the beginning of verse 1 when the singing starts

#

then clean again here

#

either simplify some of this and remove the handshape or use hi density status so that second chord doesn't display the note gems again. the reason it does is because you have removed the name on it. alternately you can put back the name to "D" so it doesn't view it as a different chord, then it will show as repeat properly

#

I would just simlify it all as the same full D chord, and make sure they are all named "D" or the space is removed. then leave this chord as is and continue from there

#

little thing but a string muted chord following an unmuted chord should ideally be handshaped to the previous chord instead of seperated like this. this can be accomplished by make it the same frets, fingering and name as the one before it so it treats it like a muted repeat

sick sapphire
#

I'd just bypass this issue by simplifying these strums into the same chord anyway

#

here we have the same issue

#

the reason it's showing like that is because you have removed the chord name

#

you don't need to do that if the chord is simplified and should be a repeat

#

you don't need the handshape either for those because repeat chords as long as they have the same frets and name and fingering will all automatically handshape together and show repeat strums

sick sapphire
#

just change the frets behind the mutes to match the previous chords

#

overall big improvements. tones are fine with me, if anything I'd reduce the clean volume a bit it was louder than the others for me

sick sapphire
#

Bass: no guitar sections should be unbroken until the next phrase with notes, not split like this

#

add some sustain on the 9D slide target here

#

and for every time that repeats

#

I'd shift to FHP3 here on this 5E, would make it more consistent with how you have it the rest of the bass chart anyway

#

Overall that bass chart was nicely done. FHPs were pretty much exactly what they should be I think
