This is my first chart, and I’d like feedback on it. Some things I wanted to note:
• This song has a triplet feel and it was tricky for me to sync with the tab. I think it works but I’d like a second opinion on it.
• Whammy bar is used in the solo on a few notes, but I don’t know how to notate it properly in Rocksmith. For those notes, I used vibratos and one has a half-step bend.
• I could only test the bass part with the emulated bass, so the fret-hand positions may not be correct. The ones I used felt right with the guitar.
• The fret-hand positions in the solo for both Lead and Alt. Lead mostly work for me, but I’d like feedback to get them right. I don’t shred much and my knowledge is lacking here.
• I think my tab meets most of the charting standards but I’d like confirmation.

Lead is a mix of electric and acoustic. Alt. Lead is the same as Lead but has a different solo since the tab I used lists 2 solo guitars. Rhythm is only the acoustic guitar. I used tones from ODLCs and turned up the volume.

will try this probably tomorrow

Doing a playthrough of this now and will post some thoughts

#

Your note highway appears to light up before the first notes on the track. Your first phrase and handshape definition should start on the first note for each track.

#

I see what you're trying to do here, but this arpeggio is fast enough that I'd actually just make it a chord 🤷‍♂️. I defer to Pavs on this as he probably has better suggestions of how ODLC would guide us in handling this

#

Is there a reason this open note on this a minor chord isn't included in the handshape? IMO, it should be added to that handshape definition and the sustain tail on it should be zeroed out

#

Same comment on this F handshape, and anywhere else a simialr pattern occurs

#

For lyrics, make sure the first word of each new line is capitalized

#

Really, really great job on the lyrics in general though

#

Onto the lead track

#

I would zero-out the sustains on these single palm muted notes.

#

Bass track

#

Same comment about the note highway starting to early on the bass track

#

Bass tone is way to quite, I can't actually hear the notes I'm playing

#

I would shift to FHP 3 here instead of FHP on the open note, then play that unpitched slide at the 4th fret with second finger

#

Some of the sustains on the bass track feel almost close to touching the next note to me, so maybe double check that. I personally like to have at least 1/16 grid space between the of a sustain tail and the next note

#

The big difference between guitar and bass FHPs, is that those lower frets are much larger on a bass than they are on a guitar, but I didn't really see anywhere where that felt egregiously unnatural.

Overall, tab seems pretty good to me (looks like you used the "official" one on UG from what I can tell), and solo sections seem reasonable.

I have mixed feelings about the differences between rhythm, lead, and alt lead being so minor but it's probably unavoidable 🤷‍♂️

#

the thing about the first one is it's upstroked slowly so it's good info to see for that part

#

when we get to this one it's just downstroke though so I think we can go ahead and make the ones in this section chords

hallow linden
#

I think the clean electric tone is little loud and sharp on the high end, when I do the palm muting parts it's piercing to my ears

#

the clean reverb tone is a tad loud too I think

#

the tone change back to that was jarring

#

not sure why there's a short empty phrase at the end

#

think you just wanna make an "END" phrase after your last note

#

so the tone changes are indeed not directly ON the note but they're still a little too close, I'm getting some popping - I think putting them 1/32 away from the note is much better and will fix that issue

#

my grid there is at 1/32

#

if I had to be picky too I think the beat map is just a hair late

#

hmm or maybe early lemme see what the exact problem is

#

I think it's the swing feel maybe

#

it's definitely recorded to click though so I'm curious if you have a fixed bpm throughout the whole song or if you tried to adjust the sync and tempo throughout

#

BPM is 111 not 110 as the tab says

#

the only part that may need some specific adjusment would be the intro with that very first chord

#

everything after measure 4 should be fixed at 111 bpm

#

if you can try that kind of approach and zero out any adjustments you made after measure 4 once it's fixed to 111 bpm I think that will make it a bit more stable beat map-wise

#

I believe the swing feel is done correctly here so my issue with timing is just with the BPM not being fixed at 111 and making sure it's dead on

#

Nice job though! I saw lots of little touches and details that most people wouldn't get right

#

I'll try to get to the other paths and bass later

hallow linden
#

you need to shift FHP on that pitched slide so going up to FHP7 there would work

#

on the minor side of things but I'd probably avoid pinky in this part, so shift to FHP8 on the 9D...

#

then back to FHP7 here I guess on the 7A?

#

arguably same kinda deal here, though this one doesnt bother me as much on pinky

#

this one though yeah, same deal, shift up to FHP8 on the 9D

#

then back to FHP7 here on the 7A

#

same issue here about the end having an extra empty phrase on it, the bass path should have its own "end" phrase seperate from the other paths since it ends earlier

#

and I'd say the bass tone was not quite doing it for me, would like something that cuts through a bit more and feels thicker

#

yeah I think the intro is the part that won't line up with the tab

#

plus

#

they had the wrong tempo

#

off by 1 bpm

Here’s an updated version with feedback implemented. Changes are:
• FHPs before first phrase removed on all arrangements to fix early highway light up.
• Handshapes were adjusted to include the first note before each chord.
• Fixed “the” not being capitalized on a new lyric line.
• Adjusted many FHPs on bass as per suggestions.
• Shortened sustains in all arrangements, though I may have gone overboard.
• Changed brushed downstroked Am and C chords to regular chords.
• Moved tone changes further back to 1/32 from the next note.
• Removed extra empty phrase at the end of all arrangements.
• Lowered Clean and Clean Reverb volume from 24 to 21.6.
• Swapped bass tone for a different one.
I’ll work on the beat map later in the week as I won’t have time to do it today. I wanted to post this just in case I screw up the beat map again and to get feedback to see if I implemented your suggestions correctly.

I'm impressed this is your first chart btw. good on you for learning all the right way to go about these things

#

maybe? if you check with the actual song I don't see a problem but I could also see it introducing some offset

#

I don't think you want to use a stem for beat map, the main beat info is gonna be on the full track

#

but if it helps and doesn't offset maybe it's ok

nocturne warren
hallow linden
#

well you could try to edit the bass tone a bit, more volume more low end and mids

nocturne warren
#

The tone I used didn't sound as bad when I messed with it in the menus

#

Sounded much worse in game

hallow linden
#

yeah always best to really test with the song, out of context you can not fully appreciate what the tone is gonna be like

if this isn't a snyth bass though make sure you're grabbing a tone that is meant for an elctric bass

#

some of my Sabrina songs are for synth bass

#

oh you're welcome! really glad you enjoy them 🙂

nocturne warren
hallow linden
#

maybe the most recent one "such a funny way" or any thing from Man's Best Friend that doesn't specifically say it's a synth bass in the authors notes

#

I don't know much about adjusting those knobs in tone creator. It was hard to settle on these tones for guitar.

nocturne warren
hallow linden
#

I get it, it takes some poking around and learning what things do, when it comes down to it sometimes I just keep adjusting things and making new test versions and play the song a bunch until I'm happy with the tones

hallow linden
#

i'll try the latest and let you know

#

Sorry about blowing out your ear. I didn't feel the pain until I used headphones.

#

Usually I play on a speaker and I couldn't hear it well.

nocturne warren
#

Thank you everyone for the feedback. 🙏

I have an issue on my end regarding bass. My game doesn't load the song's base tone and tone changes in the song don't work. I tested other songs with bass and the same issue is there. Guitar doesn't have the same issue. I'm attaching the tone here just in case.
