I will check this out when I get home from work

Up to you on this but I would recommend not doing open string mutes in most cases as its best to set a finger for added clarity that provides.

#

oh I think I see what you are doing. The open muted stuff is following a pattern so it makes sense why you have them. Note still stands overall but a lot more of a preference thing.

Only other note I have is on accents throughout the track as a whole.

Not sure if you do the Accents = staccato thing but if you do a good portion of those marked with an accent don't sound like it at all to me. Might be worth doing a final pass and being a little more conservative with what you choose to mark.

But if its just standard play louder accents then disregard.

#

Enough nitpick, everything else is solid. Easy to sightread and tone sounds great on my Single coil and Humbucker basses. Nice work

Great stuff overall! I would also mention avoiding open string mutes when possible, that's something I wasn't aware of until recently and something I still give Peon a hard time about too πŸ˜…

#

I can mention a few other nitpicks if you're open, some might be really easy to take care of and something that will improve future charts...

#

so there's actually a setting in EOF that will remove the "auto-naming" of double stop chords, as they are not typically wanted, especially in this case, since you are sliding into another chord altogether, G5 and A5 doesnt accurately describe the target chords at all. I think it's in "pro guitar" preferences in EOF? then there should be something that says "don't auto name double-stops"

#

I think this 8G unpitched slide would actually be more accurate as a linked pitched slide up to 10G

#

that would involve a FHP shift as well of course

#

Lastly, while overall this is very good, if I'm being picky about phrases I don't think they were done quite right, I still think you need to think of them in more logical musical chunks, the phrase itself is supposed to be a complete musical thought or idea and some of these seem to randomly change phrase in the middle of a pattern of group of measures? if that makes sense

#

This song gets tough because it's not simple 4 or 8 measure phrasing from what I hear

#

that plus I'd say your phrases are on the long side, probably better to aim for half the length of most of these. that would probably solve some of the issues I'm thinking of just by splitting them I think

#

anyways the phrase stuff is more on the nitpick end, and I don't expect you to redo it all for this song, just something to think about for future work maybe. I think my other 2 suggestions are more useful and easier to accomplish quickly

#

missing a sustain tail on that slide there on the 9G

thanks for tha assist @short sierra , you certainly got the keen eye and ear

dire marsh

thanks for looking into it guys, I appreciate the valuable feedback. I'll take care of those problems soon and perhaps send a v2

My EOF is not up to date either. How old is yours?

#

If it’s old enough it’s simply in preferences

dire marsh
#

I updated it about 5-6 months ago

short sierra
#

Yours is newer than mine then lol. Let me try to ask exactly where this setting is but I was told it’s in some sort of pro guitar preferences

dire marsh
#

I just checked in preferences and couldn't find it either so definitely let me know what they say

short sierra
#

you do have a section called "pro guitar preferences" or something though?

dire arrow
#

I have mine in pro guitar preferences

dire marsh
#

I only have that under preferences

#

I have two pro guitar options, one under song and one under track but neither has any options that look like removing auto naming double stops or whatever

#

that's my preference menu open

dire arrow
#

you do have it πŸ™‚ I highlighted it

dire marsh
#

oh wow i'm just blind af

#

okay so now that I got that option checked, does it automatically remove the chords name or do I need to refresh manually the chords ?

dire marsh

no problem. it's easy to glance over it

Here is a V2 if you guys want to give it a shot in case I missed anything.
I reworked the slide, changed muted open strings, the sustain tail and the phrases/section. In theory I just got to check if the chord names are still there, but the rest should be corrected. I'm gonna give it a try myself later today anyway so I'll know if I missed anything @wild lichen @short sierra
