Still a beginner at charting, please let me know if you see something off or you have some tips on what I am not doing correctly :)

Off the rip, update the DLCB to the latest version. you're using a very old version.

You should see that the validity checker is giving you some issues that you should try and fix before sharing.

Then when it comes to the volume, please leave it at whatever the DLCB auto changes it to (this should be left at -10.6). The DLCB auto sets your charts to match ODLC standards - which is a similar standard to what you will find on most music streaming services.
(I was also prone to making my charts a little louder than the ODLC standards for a long time. It really is of everyone's best interest if it was left at the ODLC standard as increasing the volume by +2db or more significantly increases the volume of the song to a point which is unhealthy for the ears. We'd like it if it was kept at that standard just so we don't cause damage to people's hearing; if they want a louder chart, they can adjust things themselves on their own system and run that risk)

little busy atm to give it a proper test, but I'll give it a test later tonight

Alright, so actually really solid first attempt.
Lots of good things I see you are doing right already when it comes to the fundamentals.

  • Like mentioned earlier about the DLCB validity check, lots of unpitched slides throughout the chart which need sustains assigning.
When you have any notes with like bend/ slide/ vibrato/ tremolo notation, you always want to have some kind of sustain on said note.
(Just remember that sustains should always have a gap between the end of the sustain and the following note - they should never touch)
#

They should look more like this

#
  • Intro section could start a little later.
atm, because the Intro is set on measure 1, it's causing the note highway to be lit up a little too pre-emptively. We usually want the note highway to start just ever so slightly before the first note.
So you could technically move it so the Intro is on m.2 - or maybe even beat 4 of measure 2 on that 14E.
#
  • Some sections/phrases I would split up a little more.
Good job for the most part manually placing sections/phrases that actually make sense with the structure of the song.
We usually like to say, set a new section/phrase every ~4 measures or so. That will usually equate to 2 phrases per section.
This bridge section for example could be split up a little more
#
  • Some FHPs I would double check.
Good job at putting new fhps through the majority of the chart which actually make sense (like following the root notes of new octave shapes etc.)
There are a few chromatic walk ups (2A > 3A > 4A, where I would recommend putting a new fhp per note for those)
#

Here for example, I would have it be fhp4 on the 4E

#

This little section I might move that 2D to be 7A so you can keep it around fhp4 > move down to fhp3 for the 3A > move to fhp4 when you start doing the octave shape. That way, its a little more natural going from the C to C#. How it's played is a little bit of a finger twister going from the C to C# because you're going from using the middle finger to using the index (I hope that makes sense)

#

One of the chromatic walk up parts where I would have a new fhp per note

#

another area where I would move to fhp4 on this note

#
  • Sustains need adjusting
General rule of thumb: if a regular note has sustain but lasts less than a beat, you can usually just omit the sustain from that note, it doesn't really add any further useful information to the player and a regular note with no sustain usually just looks a lot cleaner.
Here for example is a good example of a sustain that doesn't really add anything to the player
#

That's honestly about it. I wasn't a huge fan of the tone if I'm being completely honest, You could maybe lower the volume to be 26 instead of 29.
But tones are subjective and we all have our own preferences LUL you at least have A bass tone assigned, which is the main thing really.

#

but yeah, really good job if that's your first ever attempt 🙂

it's the little things like that I've also only recently started to be more conscious of these past 6 months or so too LUL
