@fleet crescent
good song. I'll take a look at it as soon as I can get to it
gave it a play, needs a little work but will probably get there after some edits and an update or 2 if you can make sure to send your next updated drafts after feedback.
Phrases first of all should never be this long, they all need to be the size of those smallest phrases. every 4 measures is the starting point for making a new phrase and it should work perfectly for this whole song.
I'm fairly positive all these Red 12s are just open low Ds
for the bridge I'm not sure they play the higher octave on the last sustained notes for these parts. I gotta check an isolated stem to make sure though I will do that real quick
yep I checked the stem they just stay on the same note
then at the end of the bridge the second measure of these red 7's slides up and plays the higher octave
so maybe slides up to yellow 12 and plays the last measure on yellow 12s
If you want to check out what I'm listening to here it is
pretty sure intro riff should slide up one FHP per each note. I checked live footage and that's how he plays it
which would bring the prechorus part back to FHP3 at some point too instead of still being on FHP2
although live it does seem like they commonly skip the drop D tuning on bass and just play in standard
but we definitely want to match the recording and you're already using some low Ds in the chart here
bass should also be marked (Picked)
didn't love the tone, felt like it needed some more low end
that's generally the gist of my feedback I think I'd need to see another update with these changes made first to see if there's anything more to say
Okay thanks! I’ll work on it over the week!
For the 12th fret / open string in chorus, I was debating it myself but after watching videos of them play it live, it’s almost definitely 12 (however all the footage is focused solely on Andrew and Will, and from 2003)
But yeah, listening to the stem, it’s certainly low D
yeah I saw that in the live footage 😆 let's go with what's on the recording, it'll play and sound much better and we're already in Drop D tuning anyway
Question with FHP - Do I need to do it on every given note or just when the note changes? (i.e If i have a bar of 8th notes but they are all 2nd fret, do I need to only put it on the 1st note (because it won't change after that) or every note in the bar?)
^ going to post into #creators 🙂
updated from feedback 🙂
FHP changes a couple notes too late here
need to "link-next" this slide, as well as add a little sustain on to the target yellow 12 of the linked slide
there should be more note sustain spacing in general: this look like either no space or note enough space in between the sustain and the proceeding note. 1/32 note gap is the minimum but sometimes more is needed. most of my charts have 1/24 or sometimes 1/16 spacing
there's a setting for note spacing in the preferences as well if you didn't know that you can pretty much just keep on or change when needed
make sure you click the dot next to 1/# measure too, not ms or 1/# beat those are a bit different
overall some good improvements, I think we're about at note accuracy now and the FHP are much better
Feedback acted upon and happy with result. Uploaded to CF 🙂 ofc - any additional feedback welcomed and happy to add/remove/change
ok I'll check it out when I get a chance. FYI for public uploads there should be only 1 decimal point in the version number. And ideally for non test versions you can stick to whole numbers for major releases/ updates, so this could have easily been V2. not 2.0.4 or even 2.4...
if you're just sending out a test version something like 2.0.4 would be acceptable though
V2.1 would be like if you fixed one little thing from version 2 and it didn't constitute a major update
there it is, I thought it was in the rules, just found it
I'd rather us allow semantic versioning but I'm not going to start that argument right now instead of enjoying my show
oh semantic versioning does 2 periods doesnt it
yeah I wouldn't really mind either but as of now it's not allowed on the records so your download file technically doesnt match the record
but also the point is if there hasn't been versions 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, released publicly, I don't see the point in jumping from 1.3 to 2.4
