hello tabby! this unfortunately im pretty sure is just a really really weird feature.
The way the huntsman chooses what to aim for is kind of weird, but to dumb it down:
if its a noise made by a player [jumping, running, vc/tts], the huntsman will aim at the player.
if its a noise made by an external source [another monster or an item hitting the ground], the huntsman will aim at where the noise was made.
however, that last one comes with a PRETTY BIG asterisk.
you see, for some reason, if a player is close enough to where the external source sound was made, the huntsman will instead opt to aim directly for the player [for some reason], it is very common that if you try to bait the huntsman with an item but dont scroll it out all the way, the huntsman will shoot you instead, i say that cause it has happened to me. 😢

the way the huntsman chooses what to aim at is kinda weird, i could explain it fully but i dont wanna so, to dumb it down:
if external sound is made close to player, shoot at player, otherwise, shoot directly at external sound.
[video shows a globe being smashed on the floor close to a player, causing the huntsman to shoot the player instead of the item cause it was close enough, dont ask me why it works like this.]

its also the reason why plenty of times youll see players being murdered by a duck and huntsman combo.

the ducks quack counts as an external sound that can trigger the huntsman, and because of the fact the duck is commonly following/close to a player, the huntsman opts to shoot the player instead.

Please, update the description of your video. You've said "but I used mods to reach that level, just want to clarify and repeat, I used mods to reach the level 999." but you also say "so I spent hours reaching level 999 to check what happens after you complete it,".

no, because sprint speed increases stamina drain but not stamina regen, so youre just losing a shit ton of stamina and getting a speed you cant control
