What I find strange also is that in McJannek Station, there's a calendar that's marked April something, 2058 (I think it's that year, but I'm it's 2050 something) that makes me think that maybe the scientists got caught doing something they shouldn't have and had to leave without anything. There's no sign of fight or struggle in the lab, so I don't think the apocalypse/disease was the reason the apocalypse is abandoned.

IbispaintX is free, I do use the paid version, but it works just as well without payment. A lot of free artists use it, and it's great for beginners. There's also tons of amazing tutorials! :)
