Except it can just appear silently and jump across the room and kill you if you dont have stamina/HP. It's also a small enemy so it spawns with much bigger ones. It just strips you of being able to play the game until it leaves.

nope. sometimes it's better to leave a few valuables behind because if you're too greedy it becomes cumbersome; and the more time you spend in a level, the more opportunities for enemies to attack you

ah, that's called "upgrade blocking", it's not really foolproof and not using upgrades you buy can be bad for you

I don't but they're generally in the category of small->medium->large

it's sometimes a good idea to use small valuables to stagger and kill smaller enemies if they pose a threat, like the Rugrat or Tricycle, but after level 5 they don't get staggered anymore with small valuables. plus you need like 3 small valuables to take out a small enemy in my experience
