im just gonna be honest with you

you are already above the skill level of 90% of people in this discord.
and a large chunk of the 10% dont optimise things as much as you are asking about

repo past level 10 or 15 becomes an endurance game, where individual skill is not rewarded, but patience and consistency is. so once your at double digit levels optimising becomes not very important

So at that point you would recommend starting another file since as you mentioned, from optimization now the game’s name is endurance and patience past 15

nah get level 25 first since then you'll know how to play vs the hardest difficulty

cuz the number of monsters spike at level 20 so if you stop at level 15 you won't have any experience facing more monsters plus the super moon

what you end up learning is that shooting your way through the level will drain all of your energy so you end up doing two things: 1, optimizing your loadout so you use the least amount of energy to kill the most monsters and 2, learn to not fight the monsters all of the time and play around them

The only thing i remember from a yt video (when they dont skip moon phase oc) is that pits do way less dmg and something happens with orbs although cant recall

i'd go for level 25 cuz you can use more energy per level than you can buy per shop so once you get that out of the way you can go to another save file OR use a mod to make the game harder in some way

going any further is up to you since after level 20 the difficulty doesn't increase in any way

it depends on what you enjoy. if you enjoy the optimising part of it more than yeah, but thats only because past a certain point the only optimising to be done is going through levels faster and deciding to buy more max stam vs crouch rest

if your experienced you can quite easily get through a level with MUCH less energy than you can buy at the shop so theres no real need for energy conservation in levels, so just go through them fast

im able to do an entire 5 extract level using like around 2-3 crystals and the shop can spawn up to....(5?) idk exactly but i know 4 is possible

theres plenty of wiggle room for not being perfectly optimal, so just completing levels faster is more worth

the maps that have extract points that are the worst are mainly in museum, because it is either going all the way downstairs multiple times to leave valuables or the ones that have a large pit and also a small area around the ACTUAL extract point for you to lay in the meantime
