to be fair it depends on your playstyle and preferences.
If you like melee then Sledge is good.

If you like gun-styles, then Shotgun. 🤷‍♂️

If you want range and coolness, then Photon. 😂

but also depends on situation and which enemy, since it'd be a waste to use Sledge, Shotgun or Photon on tier1 enemy, so then Sword/Bat/Gun would be the better options there.

likewise I personally would recommend Pocket cart + Cart Cannon to counter Loom as this will one hit KO it. 🤷‍♂️

which will use up 2 energy for the 3 upper mentioned weapons.

even more if using the latter 3.

This game stood the test of time I'd say, it even survived the friendslop label, because guess what, you realize the game isn't friendslop once you play it!

Sure coop is one of its main selling points, but the game is perfectly playable solo, it's just harder, because unlike actual friendslop titles like Content Warning, the game was actually created with solo play in mind and doesn't suddenly become unplayable because you don't have friends!

And on top of it, the gameplay loop is solid enough that it's actually entertaining even if you play it alone!

Most of the scares REPO gave me were honestly less because of the enemies and more because of the map and sound design and the burden of permadeath meaning a single mistake can cost you the entire run

The server is mostly inactive because the VAST majority of members joined a while ago from the server being promoted in devlogs (over 100 thousand members came in within 24 hours from one video). They have mostly stopped promoting the server in any way hence why its inactive because theres hardly any new members.

i had one time in a modded playthrough with random modifiers and there was a random gravity modifier for each room, the vent room in mcjannek had a slight gravity reduction so jumps went higher up slightly
i fell down and died because there was a slippery room modifier too, and then my head somehow proceeded to get stuck under the room below the stairs and it was just completely perma stuck and could not get out even after like 15 minutes of me watching helplessly as it flailed around
the ptsd... never again
