every monster has a strategy to defeat it (at worst, the strategy is "RUN!")

the laser will always target where your head is. so if the clown laughs and starts firing his laser, if you crouch you'll be safe as he'll shoot it above you. then once the laser passes your head it'll give you time to run away (because he WILL pursue you)

if you're already crouched when he spots you, you'll need to jump over his laser instead which can be a tad more tricky

remember that almost every monster can be countered by hiding and/or running away

oh that's a known issue when loading the map. Somehow the items spawn slightly above the ground and will drop on the ground hence, making most if not all the valuables having gotten some damage.

thats why as much as the pocket parry is a funny tech, it is infinitely better to jump behind a wall to bait him to walk to you and then 0 strength pickup him
