Your best bet is learning which monsters are in the level, and then acting accordingly, if you have something like a bowtie or something, try and be hidden and quiet near pits

Loom is kinda like an easy Clown, basically bait an attack, sprint backwards, you're fine

you can also charge forward when it stretches its arms

it's probably easier since you're right behind Loom at that point rather than when you withdraw when it still has you in front and is able to attack you with same animation.

there's also if you have enough money, the trick to buy Pocket Cart and a Cart Cannon. It'll one punch Loom.

I don't think they are doing anything with solo mode as far as I know, at least they haven't mentioned that in any of the dev videos I have watched.

It might get changed next update, considering they are adding a shop refresh, which is a feature in solo mode, if you leave and reload the game.

I lost a game because I started rushing because I had to wrap it up, so I did something stupid and died. It's a minor issue compared to people playing massive late game solo runs who need to take a break after spending an hour in a run

Escape key does not pause the game, hiding spaces are not a certainty. Even if there were a good hiding place when you have to step away from the computer at that moment's notice, you are doomed to return to a punish, either a lost run, or monster spawn timers progressing, making the level more difficult as a punish for "taking too long".
