Sucks we're getting yet another update that I and many others who require actual controller support can't play. I've been waiting forever to be able to come back to REPO, this just sucks.

There is always steam input but im guessing they are waiting for the full launch for controller support since they wanna make sure that all the mechanics in the game work with it.
Plus have to work on expressions for controller too thats gonna take a lotta work as the way it is now it would not be possible to work with controller.

The steam input unfortunately is really bad, the camera rips around no matter the sensitivity, you can barely pick certain items up, trying to use weapons is difficult to impossible, forget trying to actually pick up and toss any of the monsters. Its just really bad.

I can't play the game without a controller, so I've been sitting here watching update after update, and the full launch is who knows when. It feels like being able to play this game isn't going to happen and I should just move on elsewhere, which sucks because I really don't want to have to shelve the game. I'm just complaining, ultimately, but it really does suck for accessibility.

Last time i used steam input honestly it worked really well. Are you using a community layout or your own?

I've tried both, I've tried changing the actual controller type as well.

Unless I'm misunderstanding and this jankiness is supposed to be how the game feels all the time, but I can't do m/kb to know what's expected

Can be a bit awkward if you aren't using a gyro controller personally set up gyro for camera movement and it worked pretty well.

Devs do wish to add it but again it is best to make sure all the mechanics have been added so then they can go all in on adding support.

I really feel they should’ve planned to try to make it cross platform compatible before fully releasing the game, to test how the game would work for everyone and to make the players not have to wait so long

Yeah it just kind of sucks. I can't play with m/kb due to some pretty severe carpel tunnel, its a lot trying to even use a laptop in general let alone with games, so it really is a disability/accessibility issue for me. Cross playform would be even cooler so I could use my xbox, but honestly just a good working controller support is fine.

But on that, I'll stop complaining in the main chat. Just wanted to express some disappointment not being able to play.

I mean, sorta? It reminds me when horses were added to Minecraft - it felt like a mod, I think it is just because, like the video said, they are still a work in development

You could do long traversals with the cart hooked up to say the scooter :D

I mean even then, horses in Minecraft even in early stages could be useful but the only thing I see useful of having vehicles in repo is accidentally falling into a pit whilst driving it or knocking into some 40k valuable. But yeah they said it was a WIP, will be interesting to find out how they're planning on making it work

it was more the design of the horses that people thought it was very mod like - not the usage
