So with USSP, PDV, and TSF having special researches (including CC i belive? but mostly for special ships) it could be awesome to have the same for MD, including special ships and some other items. This thread is for adding crazy ideas, in hopes some new stuff could be born for the MD to mess around. I'll start with these:

  • Medical Mech: A suit, similar to a CLARK but made for medical, having modules for shooting syringes like a syringe gun and having an internal tank to carry chemicals, either for recharging syringes or to help with treatments while also protecting the pilot

  • Syringe rifle: An "upgrade" of the syringe gun, (for some reason syringe gun can't be in pocket, please do), essentially takes more space and cannot be concealed as easy, but uses medium syringes that have 10u of space (basically normal syringes won't work)

  • Patient mech: A mech that is controlled by a pilot, that has a space for carrying a single body, either crit, dead or alive, the use being for obviously safe transport of patients

(medical mechs won't be very protective, in the sense of being slightly easier to take down if you do focus fire it, they're lighter so they're also slightly fast)

  • Pod shooter: (i lack a better name), essentially a station/ship gun, that allows to shoot a pod containing chemicals to inject inside a ship, they will inject a smoke, depending on the pod loaded in (this could range from sleeping gas, to toxic gas). (The smoke cloud won't be big naturally, this is to basically ensure people do properly aim with these, but could still be helpful to negate a certain area)

i have tried to look around for any similar suggestions and i belive i didn't see them (might be blind) but feel free to correct me if i am wrong

So, the medical mech would basicly be an odysseus from ss13, with a sleeper and syringe gun equiped.
The ship gun could just be a modified granade thrower, with medical being able to research special granades for it?

but i think that smoke does go away when there's like the space getting in? similar to fire

atleast it makes sense that way and it does keep it balanced regardless

We already have armor piercing rounds, no?
so just have an armor piercing granade.
This wont work on any ships with many layers of armor, making it less viable in PVP too, so that would be neat

I could probably mash something like that together in a horrid abomination pretty easily.

Pretty sure i could steal the wall piercing ship gun code, make it do no damage and where it usually would explode it simply use a modular granade prefilled with... stuff instead.

i am playing a lot of DoC and this gameplay is making me realise the stuff MD would love to have as fun gimmicks

Should be easy enough to cobble together, probably would be buggy as fuck tho, since ship guns needed quite a lot of testing till they worked with armor piercing.

that gave me an idea of a laser like in faster than light, that basically is an anti life laser that only hurts organic stuff

But i dont really want people to just be able to kill you even easier inside your ship, so i would keep it to gas or smoke nades

I think that MD getting more stuff to work with would be great, I think it’s one of the best examples of a faction hiring both mercs and civs.

They have needed a good combat suit that’s not the ATU ones for a while.

my focus (personally) is like more medical special stuff, to justify the reasonings for MD coming and to hopefully make hte job easier

yesterday as DoC it was never in between, it was either really quiet

or everyone and their 5 generations of children rushing to MD due to cancer from the monolith
