#Limit the number of mercenaries major factions can hire.

my thought on implementing it is to add it to the conflict rules.
hence why i added "(comparably) balanced fight". the faction balance sucks at the moment, i agree, but having one or two minor factions completely steamroll the major factions doesn't feel like it fits into what said factions are meant to represent.
hell, at this point organisations like viper are pretty much major factions
tbh its kinda on tsf for being steamrolled by 6 people
but i agree vipers should be added as a minor whitelist locked faction ngl 💔
like gsc on hullrot
(im the biggest gsc glazer)
How do you even stop people from helping other people???
What kind of amount of coding dark magic would you pull off in order to stop people from ever interacting when it reaches a certain limit
YOU CAN'T
the solution would be
to remove the merc role and force people into factions
while making companies smaller factions (tfsc)
CC gets removed, camelot turned into freeport

Give this man a promotion👆
im being so fr here
add like 15 merc slots
or something

Like uhhh for factions?
no...just like 15 random mercs
if people wanna play expedslop or smth
limit amount of mercs
Uhhhh I'm really not following what you're putting down
Like do you mean for crew console???
+1
no like..idk just limit them
so people are forced to play factions

That sounds completely awful....
Especially considering that factions are supposed to taken seriously
And there are expectations levied on you
🤷
hullrot
Yeah the event that prompted this suggestion could have been avoided with more teamwork (like bitch anyone actually going to fight rather than sit around like lemons), it just felt odd that there was like one or two actual PDV invading halc
making a rule to prevent mercenaries from doing mercenary work is...bad
Like there's no other work for mercenaries? Body grading, anti piracy, assassination, expedition, building a big ship that looks like a dick and ramming it into LPB. The opportunities are endless!
Hey, I'd pay good money for viper to clean up some of the pirates. Would make most people's lives easier
no one wants to do exped slop or spend 1 hour of tuning a ship for nothing
we do that already
like every shift
Ok, but have you considered being silly is it's own reward 😌
It's why I play so much TSF. I want to change the culture, but also I am so full of ADHD that I also forget port strike a lot of the time
I think minor factions playing a vital role in rounds is a good thing actually
Viper group swaying a battle is larp. besides literally anyone can hire them
what the fuck are mercs supposed to do if they cant.. lemme check... get hired.. as a mercenary...
this is fucking stupid
we are already whitelist locked
"Who has the deeper pockets" thats how war works in general?
