To answer anything that may come up in this thread: No, I am not reverting the marriage rulechange. It won't happen, ever. Sorry.

After 4 months, I've reworked most of the older rules with the staff team that were limiting player experience & RP.

Although I do have the opinions of maints & admins within my circle of staff, I do not have the opinions of people that actually have to follow the rules instead of enforcing them too. (theres no way to aghost for you normies)

I would like feedback on the current rules, ideas for future rules, or rules that you might like to see a return of.

I think that stricter roleplay rules would be nice. Not in rules that restrict roleplaying, but more set like... a baseline of quality

I come from HRP servers on 13 so I might just have a horrifically high bar, but I do feel like the players here are more than a little... loose on their characters

You see, the problem with command bounties giving KOS rights is that it gives unfair advantage for command roles like overseer or director of care against their enemies IC. They already have means to deal with them in form of their funds that can be used to hire private security or pay corsairs for taking down inconvenient spacer. Hired guns can already kill troublemakers if they dont comply or their target after saying one liner. I honestly think that all bounties should be kos because its unimmersive to say one liners before killing someone, also that would fix unfair advantage and cause more players to hire mercenaries for private security reducing bored mercs stuck in expedslop loop. Now for the second sentence that made me broke monolith discord rules. Im surprised that whitelisted player who needed to gain +40 hours on monolith would show such extreme ignorance on the setting we are role playing in. If you had spend 5 minutes on reading lore primer you would have known that Colossus Sector is too dangerous for larping as Frontier like space cop and forcing anyone into using non lethals via server rule would broke immersion of the setting.

I advice you to check Frontier because Monolith might not be a server for you.

Their advantage should be using their funds to fund their task force for doing things ex. Auro-Kava as DoC. Not having magical privilege for posting KOS orders where normal, gray player must say one liner before starting combat. Also if you had played on the server you would have known that 95% bounties on other players can be done by killing them. Why? Because in ss14 you can revive dead people with ease, it means that nobody would care to do anything different that tossing cuffs and demanding victim into surrendering because you can just revive their corpse.

In universe rules that do not apply to the person OOC

We need guidelines not rules there should more ways to clarify who is the captain of the ship
We need more ways to manipulate the job positions of crew
After the fact

We might need a rework of the crew system

I would love to see some IC rules for factions about what is allowed to be sold, I feel like it's a grey area that makes people not want to interact with mercs or civs.

they're a fairly good example, they play the game like csgo and barely stop to talk to other people. when they do interact with other people (especially the enemy or people who are conflicting with him) they act like a total asshole over the global radio - normally this is fine, characters can be assholes but this does not feel like a character this just feels like the completely out of character upset player bitching in an in character medium

i think this guy is a russian or just doesn't understand what a character is yet which isn't a bad thing necessarily but if you want a not toxic as fuck roleplaying environment then you gotta start cracking down on ppl like them.

this is only the stick method though, if you actually want people to start partaking in the roleplay they gotta have fun with it too you know? encouraging people to make an actual character is necessary. i don't know how to do this though- given the expectation that this is basically spaceship terry has already set in
