Respawning as the same character is insanely LRP, and people don't value their lives. Allowing people to keep their millions, the one permanent thing that travels across rounds, does little to discourage people from continuing to throw away their lives

you are encouraging people to make multiple characters and play them but if you force people to do that, people, especially people that are worse at roleplay, will struggle reall reall hard

Not every character needs to be treated equally, one can get a lot more time than the other. You can make a character that only shows up when your main has died & that's the only time you play them. That's ok, that's whatever, that's called normal
