Yea
intentional
It was intentionally made to be that way so yeah its allowed
You used to be able to do neither
Why did they do that like if someone tries to escape with ftl or?
Because why not
And there was a bug where only chimera ships could be seen in ftl which isntantly told everyone chimeras were around
Which was lame
When asked, I was told it was incase someone tries to flee from combat, you can FTL as well, and ram them.
Pretty lame excuse, and it's used by shitters and Chimera to just ram you in FTL space.
So... yeah.
i mean, as a chimera, i can just ram you anywhere too really, but the point of ramming in FTL is that, you ram, explode ame or take out consoles, then go to where ship FTL'd to and collect the bodies, once i rammed a fleeing tsf legionnaire/fracture that way from the side when it was fleeing and i think it took out ame or console, so we could catch up to a ship that could otherwise just spam FTL's as much as their heart desired and never get caught, so the feature works well. (also now i think thermal signatures appear from far far away so its possible to catch people with no iff too even)
about shitters ramming in FTL, i dont see the difference between them ramming in hyper-space than them ramming in normal space, both are used by shitters, so we should remove ramming too then altogether? Both are against the rules anyways if it was done with no purpose or escalation behind it, so you can just report them
