I dont understand why we cant attach drills onto gygaxes and to a lesser extend durands. Beyond that there should be melee weapons on mechs that deal more damage/different damage than just the fist. Here are a few good ideas I've compiled that COULD be used to make this suggestion happen and spart discussion this is NOT a list suggestion.
-Flame sword
when you swing ignites several tiles in front of it on fire.
Does slash and fire damage up close
-Combat drill
Fast rate of fire with medium piercing damage
doesnt actually do all that much structural damage
ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH
-Rocket hammer
Charges up before dashing your mech forward and unleashing a small AOE (3 tiles perpendicular to the direction you dashed in) and knocking anyone without magboots on or heavy armor prone.
after attacking the mech is rendered immobile for a time.
hella power drain
-Pilebunker
hold fire to charge a shot (more charge = more power drain)
release to deal up close pierce and high structural damage.
-heavy spear
long range attack
slowish rate of fire
relatively low DPS for a mech weapon, but costs no energy or virtually no energy to swing. So high damage per unit energy.
-SUNlight blade
swinging it sends out a slow moving glowing projectile that deals medium slash damage
up close its only moderately better than fists
funni fromsoft reference
-energy shield
blocks damage for the mech
cant shoot while active
only blocks one side of the mech
provides cover
drains power while active
To reiterate, the suggestion of this is to add mech weapons to increase mech diversity, these are only suggestions of what one could possibly do.
I'm not well versed enough to discuss stats, and I know that some of these are a little similar to dark gygax's chainsaw but like, how come we're religating all the cool stuff to the PDV?
