Theres a bug (I think its a bug ) currently (probably because of how leto was made flameable) where if a chimera gets set on fire ONCE its temp will permanently and steadily increase for the rest of the round, leading to the chimera being ashed 20+ minutes after combat ends with no way to prevent it. This is pretty boring and unfair imo, and should be fixed asap

Okay I managed to recreate it.
I shot it with roughly 5 shots and right as it was about to crit, it's heat has started to go upnon stop

Maybe you have to be on fire for a little bit of time? Ive had it happen to me three times ive played chimera twice (one of them i ahelped and got rejuv’d which fixed it)

Plus with the biomass on fire ive seen chimeras burn themselves a LOT just turning on esword/epen etc

every effort which makes chimera weaker in person incentivizes them to resolve to battles with ship guns
forget about making any real moves past three hour mark because chimera fleshbeast (666) has already put the sector on high alert and everyone has incendiery bullets
this is because now that letoferol is flamable, why would you take a chance fighting on a station or boarding when you can kill your target first, in space, and then have the upper hand in fight that without this would be near impossible

I always ignore it, but it's obvious when they spawn in.

Also, besides that, it's not really meta gaming as it's been stated Chimera aren't meta shielded.

The issue is, Chimera have no way to hail back when hailed, making it an easy "hail or be shot"
silence for 20 seconds
Knows it's a chimera, and kills em.

They need a way to say like "Something" to make it somewhat questionable if it's an idiot driving, or a chimera.

That's a valid point, and a bit sad that they get caught up in it.

I've began to try and not chase down ships and just randomly "hail now"
if it's a confirmed chimera ship, I'll demand a hail
if not, I may ask for a hail, if nothing
i'll move on because I don't KNOW it's a chimera and i'm not docking to it

also it's lame to just start going to every single ship and saying "hail or die" with no valid reason besides some guy saw a chimera ten minutes ago.

Well, I did just Report the Chimera ships being visible through FTL.
So maybe when that's fixed, it'll cut down on the "Chimeras!!!" until Chimeras actually you know, show up officially.
