like, femur has like 6+ plastit walls to gens and cockpit from the front
do not resist the de-privatisation
maybe even 8
Naw you going to a panopticon type prison on nearest moon to excavate ammonia rocks
Commissar paid me twice, 30 shift coverage. that payment is expired. time to re-up.
Potato craves nutrients
How much even
1 mil per shift, discounted to 500k per shift past 10 shifts covered
Despite our infaction USSP differences, I think we all unite under urge to level DoC the moment they announce paid insurance to everyone.
some companies are covered for free, some are not
So true
Maybe instead of CC, we should get MD
I dont think a lot of people will pay that for USSP tbh. I like your idea and that you really went with privatised company for that.
However prolly just, very much clashes with vibe
you would be VERY surprised
i have an investor that has thus far paid me 25 mil on his own
Sierra?
I know
Not to talk about them behind their back but, I observed them some, and I know what they do to make this much
they just smuggle a lot
Wonder how they get the fax so often
they dont. they actively just go to the locations and blindly search every potential place
a lot of people do
you'd be surprised
tbf no one in their right mind should expect that only people who get the fax should smuggle.
about what
RSC insurance
you got #whitelisted ?
dms then
aye
Hard agree
Why is it even our problem?
Just run our own med and use it as propaganda fuel
If MD tries to hire mercs to jump our shit
fucking kill them
Yaaa Camelot has no real leaders so they can't give out an income to people
Part of why if I am working as stc or generally working the medbay or research I occasionally take out some of the less used mats and use them as "Payment"
I did my part
Nah
what?
Ah the ship rebalance thing?
Thats gonna be cringe
As always, goldenchild tsf can have whatever, while others cant
just means i gotta cook harder
One of the only good ships USSP has
weeping
Bro, its so over
Whar?
Also i yearn for a late tech tree scout suit
Oh uhh it shouldnt be too different mobility and armor wise
Infact probably more survivable due to just more interior space
Has two large thruster and four small to propel it forward
Ok thats baller
I guess I just loved the old shape too much you know
New one looks fire
I just got distracted when I was writing that and got cut off
On another note
Fuck nerds using USSP gear cause they got skill issue and cant find gear, but steal it from righteous comrades
uhhh
the funny maptainer person said to kill the CTLA-160
its so THICK
i want to remove some of the side profile armor, but in doing so it exposes all of the critical electronics to frontal fire
anyway, its the drakon in essence, it can perform probably to the same effect as the drakon
i will have another few passes to get internal decals correct
and maybe even room layouts (looking at bridge and the dorms)
as with the last iteration, if you see any points on it you dont like, please say so
oh uhhh forward speed with current arrangement is 81 without upgrading the smaller thrusters
iff with the guns loaded
on this note though, they did say 25/25s
so in spirit of the drakons now gone 160 ive put a 25s
Thats the smallest firing angle i've ever seen on a cyrexa (which arent even worth using anymore)
Just gotta wait for cyrexa to be over buffed again
Surely
Drakon bros this is the way
but seriously that firing range is way too small
and the original drakon firing angle was already small
hi peeps
so
imma need an actual job icon for a special ussp remnant role
and also, please maintain it and not make half their gear recolored sec hardsuits and modsuits
also an actual comms key sprite too thankies
cant believe security stole from us
but uhh, that sounds baller
hmm, alright
Delicious
nice
Uh, I know you been asking for sprites, so if I understand right, you need:
- job icon sprites, I think the role you mentioned was Conscript... Right?
- a sprite for the comm key, just Tac Comm key I assume?
- more stuff generally? We kind of inherited all this stuff, hence the sec theming. If you look at para, the suits are very similar
Spriting isn't really my thing, points at bio
Maybe I can goida something, when I'm home
Spriting scares me
Also since vulture is killed we can maybe steal its shape
I mean uhh… borrow
thankies, but a sprite for Remnant first, then the command roles
Its deeeeaaaad
Puppet its corpse
Oh wait no its not the pr got closed
Damn
i was even remapping it lmfao
I really want to see it available to civs and to not see it gone, its such a nice ship
How many roles you want?
It's a bit lazy, but if it were me, I'd keep the former faction roles for Remnants, so Rifleman, Efreighter (misspelled but you know the one), etc., on the basis ex- soldiers would likely just keep the IDs they were issued
Otherwise, I'd split it into:
- USSP Naval Personnel
- USSP Citizen or contractor
2 roles, one military, one civilian
i don't even think
that two roles
are like something
just go ussp remnant
boom
just keep the role icons for events
and shit
And another thing to discuss are we doing #1484258826621292714 thingy?
If it happens it happens
Could make organising content we need easier
Because looking at whats been asked from the pineapple we need a fair bit of spritework
Fair enough
Yeah, past experiences with metacords hasn't been particularly good tbh
I'm holding off that idea atm
Just in terms of my own contributions, I've sort of fallen off contributor/lore writing grind due to IRL stuff
I should be making a comeback in 2-ish weeks, John is getting his own hab-block, WITH A DESK so I can return to the YAML forge
Hell, I might even start playing again
no but an actual ussp contrib metacord would be nice
with an actual content focused experience
rather than 'waaaah maints killed ussp waaaah"
I mean, we have 2 contribs who focus on USSP content, I think RWS made a ship a while ago, but they split their focus over a lot of peak
Bot maps kino ships, I mainly did (although I hope that changes) YAML stuff, I'm also sort of the one supposed to be writing the updated lore. My current contribs have been largely making some of our faction stuff available again, comms was the most notable I guess
But yes, more new and reworked content would be good to keep USSP interesting
I do have some ideas, but it would be good to know what the plan is with Minor Factions and where all this fits
Naw whoever it is, is cringe and should have a restraining order against
This is anything but drakon
This is a cool ship, dont get me wrong
But... Just...
There is only a hint of whats left of what made drakon - drakon
I already forsee tsf buff and several 160s added to new ships with no issue from that maintainer
Overreaction, its fine
Just hold out and see whats in the works
If my opinion does hold any opinion, i do think the maptainers are moving in a good direction
If you check #1356724251490648074 you can see Altair.
This is pretty much tsf buran.
But it gets purple shield, 2 op gens and charon on the start
The people who are mainly working on the higher level faction ships are doing very good job on them
Its strong, as it should be
How much is it
Hm, fair nuff
Altair is meant to be fighting thing like the pdv saintie and fenrir
Which are incredibly strong
Dunno really, some of the resently added ships are just metagamey fragfest
It happens, especially with newer mappers
Like scallywag, bless its creator is very good
Naw they are very well receptive of feedback from both sides of it
Ship itself is good
That and im intending for the ussp/average merc to be able to punch back
Its just the combo what it offered for just 100k
Is it 25 or 25s?
Unsure yet, likely only 25 due to it being fenrir capable
Sad
Old drakon just covered a very nice niche
Decent, not bulky ship capable of resques
It did, once i finish this iteration ill probably argue its niche
To atleast the ctla-50 so it somewhat reaches a farther range than other vessels
Actually, @idle remnant in the comment on the reworked drakon pr, you mentione changing its ctla-160 to a 25 or 25s, would a ctla-50 work to keep the drakons iconic longer range FTL
Is Sekunda getting remap as well?
Yes, i intend to map it at some point mainly to fulfill a better niche and be more desirable
Though if someone else wants to map it first im fine with them doing so, i do take quite long to make a design and pr it
Same with any ussp ship
The ctla-50 in the same research as the 25s as far i remember
I'm ngl USSP in the past was known for being a very low tech faction with them generally having little FTL (to my knowledge)
and even now anything other than CTLA-25 is rare to see
25s being rarely seen on some ships
CTLA-160 is very sus to see at base since it's meant to be researchable
and to my knowledge the only CTLA-50 is in the Olympus, a capital cargo ship
TL:DR to answer you ngl you'll need to convince me big time on why a merc ship needs a CTLA-50
Dare I remind you actual USSR had analog machines so advanced that we have much space tech now?
I'm not up to date to whatever the lore made up for USSP is
I'm more so caring about what the Drakon is now and how their ships were designed back then
Same, hence why im asking. So would this be a better case of waiting?
I'm surprised the Drakon has a 160 in the first place
Well, USSP CTL160 was fheir gig for a long time
I mean do tell me why you think it needs a CTLA-50
over a 25/25s (25s will need discussion with maints but likely possible at the cost of increased price)
It was their thing since PDV has firepower, TSF has shields and emp
can you tell link me to a source of your claim or just list me how many USSP ships has big boy FTL drives ?
Mainly to fit a seperate niche of fast responding merc craft, curren the meta is the mudskipper which the drakon seperates itself with less meta weapons
Atm, only the buran/ledo have a ctla-160
So capital sized vessels
Ledokol, Buran, Drakon
Maybe tunguska too
But you cant get it atm
ledo's a capital
Tung dead, replaced with buran
Buran's a fat fuck but I'll give you that
I mean both of them are massive, although lmc
yeah alr neither of them need removal
Buran replaced tung which was classified as a cap vessel, so
See thing is
Drakon WAS unique due to its long range FTL
Drakon was always bulky, slower and underfirepowered
And that ftl what made him unique
Nd filled a very specific nieche
I mean if the entire gimmick of a ship is having a roundstart pre fracture drive
maybe the concept is bad imo
but okay hold on lmc the mudskipper's FTL drive
looks like a CTL25
Mudskippers is a reg 25
No, this was a balance thing
A trade off
alr I'll do this professionally and check every ship with a CTL50 and see which ones have
And USSP has prefracture drives
I think its genuinely just the olympus lmao
Why would it be an issue
I'm going to be honest my bro you sound very biased in favor the of USSP
Because in the time when most are either biased in favor of tsf and pdv, someone has to
The only ships im aware with a non 25 drive are uhh both faction capitals, andro and that one med ship
But yeah, I just heavily disagree with deletion of ctl160 from drakon and I think its going to bring morr harm
I wont deny lyagushka’s probable bias, but i do think removing the 160 would be a worse action
I mained drakon for a long time, whats going to happen is - instead of a balanced ship that fullfilled a certain role, people will just buy capitals all around
This will just cause a downward spiral of nerf upon nerf
Alr
I've checked pretty much every ship with 50s and 160s
balance is all over the place that's an unsurprising fact
As is monolith
yeah
🗣️ 🔥
since shit like comet got it among other things
I'll allow it under one condition
give me the value of your appraisegrid & marker on your drakon PR
we'll discuss an up-pricing from there.
I'll say though dawg I get that USSP was done dirty big time but no need to go on the full defensive when I kick in for balancing a ship PR
I'm sure when the minor faction update is live something will be done about you guys
At least, I hope so.
I am just overprotective about it, please excuse me for earlier comments but do take them with fair bit of sarcasm
Its abysmal
Camelot is constantly raided out of nowhere
You can try do something cool all round, random merc spawns in, decides they want to be a pirate, steal whatever because no door locks
I wish USSP still had dedicated slots and accesses to camelot to prevent that. Lorewise companification and rule change would suffice.
*or give us baikal back
*
Sorry but its hard to resist pirating self claimed overseers (normal ones too)
and no, doors wouldnt save you
as said, give it time
minor factions are in the work last ive heard
will probably be done either tmr or saturday
Thats just cringe. I understand that its way easier than picking a fight with tsf or seccies.
But this gets old and boring, people are trying to make something cool, something that takes effort and dedication. Only logical retaliation to someone who just comes in and steals whatever because they know they wont have issues is to hunt them roundstart
And I dont think you will be particularry happy from getting your game screwed like that every damn time
I already got back at DoC that charged people with the same methods they used, and they cried a river in discord and got like 5 people jump out of nowhere and defend them (metabuddies i presume)
Bruh just, can people be modest and respectable please? Soulless edgelord "I am a pirate and I must frag" NPCs is so overused

Companies or soon to be minor factions or whatever should be fighting each other or have the dynamic of on/off conflict
You have LARP reasons to attack the USSP, which is valid. In the same way a USSP player could engage in anti-piracy actions or attack TSF
The whole Camelot issue is that we squat the place, and have 90% of the station looted 10 minutes in, my only company shift with USSP, I had the space Romania experience with my Remontnik losing all the mining lasers in the 30 seconds it took me to reach my shuttle
I get why USSP players get pissed off about it
The new company POI, will hopefully fix a lot of these problems, everyone has their dedicated space
One message removed from a suspended account.
🤓 🥹 🥺
do you even know what it replaced lmfao
just a week away

mate the altair replaced a sci voucher unique capital you need mats and hella resezrch for
BUDDY moment
also, will probably make the minor faction prs separately
and after my yml slop gets merged
That's what I don't understand, like what the issue is.
There's a lot of preconceived notions re: pirates I guess, it's been that way since ASR.
Honestly, I'm getting deja Vu now I'm thinking of ASR, same sort of strawman, but it was at least partly true at the time. I can't speak to what's happening now, but it sounds like it's improved
But yeah, the setting is that we are in the space equivalent of the Zone, all different fringe groups trapped together in space hell, conflict ensues.
Erm… ermm actiluaallly the colonel can buy a voucher shift start
same as the vizier
bub
One message removed from a suspended account.
vizier STARTS with a saintie voucher
same as colonel with an altair voucher
The funniest shit is that it's not something a dev has to code. Anyone can do it
i am GETTING to it
What do you plan to do ? Make roles for the USSP specifically ?
minor factions in general
including ussp
That doesn't help much
You plan to code roles for every company ?
Yeah I'm not clear on how the roles are supposed to work
Then stop bitching and make your own station visible on the map, let us raid it every time you finish
I think its for the larger companies
Mainly
We are making a tierlist for the companies
yassir
and the larger ones
like rax
rsc
VG
and ussp for bow
now
Rax
people that have special gear and a reason to have a role
Kind of you to do it for them
yea
i just want to see it made and no one will do it otherwise
so
Yml wizard bound by moral chains
It should be up to the company members/owners ngl
Maybe we should make it clear they can just PR a role
I was corrected right after the message you replied to, brotha, read first🙏
I malded, then I realised its voucher
i know i’m being evil
aren't we waiting for the new POI to be finished for the roles
no
why would y’all
the only tjing it needs is a job proto
and a spawnpoint
because that's where 90% of the blackmarket aligned factions are going
i czn just yml wizard my way i to adding the roles later
ya
but camelot can still work as ussp base
doesn’t matter
yeah fair
My last message was lost to the void
I think, tying roles to the new POI makes sense as the dedicated company spawn
Not sure Camelot should remain if we are getting a space on the new POI

The Company POI is going to be a madhouse
Putting all these opposing groups in one place, is going to be cinema
Pushing the new company players shift start with big leadys
Ofcourse you would say that but lets see what you will be typing here after you just get wiped 30 seconds into the round
My comically large seal clubbing stick
We already have the DoC that cried a river when same tactics as they practice were used on them
We dont talk about the moveable poi event…
We dont talk about cargo depot C part with cargo crate printer stolen
Nd definitely not hauled to a different cargo point
Camelot being shifted to md 15 minutes into a shift like a war moon
Wish🙏

Funny how most of the "its a dangerous sector" mfs bitch when the danger applies to them too, its almost like 90% of the people who make that argument think that only they are the danger (ie a weak-ass excuse to be a frag shitter)
🗣️ 🔥
Also, they are not the people who decide to help deal with major threats, they are not people capable or willing to put effort in anything but mindless fragging, they are not people who take actual hard, almost sisyphian tasks no matter the ods.
It reminds me of a coment i saw, i forgot the original context but it pops into my mind when stuff like that happens "rats lived in a society of mice, thrived, now its a society of rats and the rats wonder why it can't be like the good old days"
I have seen only few interesting pirates, and instead of being characterless chuds here, they desperetly try keep up their reputation of concious people who bring more than just hostile npc to the game
Thats mainly those redsail fellas
I'll admit those guys are based
I should try piracy and be nonsensical about, ie like give up your light bulbs or something idk
Like the other day, I put a prank hit on the bounty system for a courier being too silly

I mean i said most, if you aint doing that you aint doing that, i just said a lot of people use "its a dangerous sector" to lrp frag, its the intention behind it, piracy for the sake of rp is based, I'd say the main problem rn is the general opinion on piracy has been tainted by said ppl and hopefully ppl like you and rsc can turn it around

you need to be cautious all the time
i am dangerus sector hugboxer
You are just a psycho ICly
are you something fluffymoth?
Ok gang
I have been asked to look into making roles for our transition to minor faction
I wanna check the vibe as to what people want, my current proposal is to revive some of the old roles, the current number is 2 normal, one command, I'm going to suggest:
- Rifleman
- maybe medic? I'm not keen on Efreighter, or however its spelt
- I think Serzhant fits as the command role, to show the lapse in senior command in the sector (Squad Leaders taking charge makes sense in my mind at least)
This may mean Civilian roles are dead for USSP, if you are playing USSP, you are an ex-soldier or a conscript enlisted in the sector
It's a bit up in the air, there will be guidelines on what's expected soon, so take all this with a grain of salt
Actually, Commissar makes more sense as the command role (one slot), Serzhant as the second normal role
Anyways, ideas guys do your thing
i think comissar and medic + rifleman would fir the best
like almost all the officers died
Probably the best way to do it
What's left, is a Commissar trying to herd Riflemen like cats
yass
honeslty not much to ideas guy from me
this is peak and about how i thought it would go best
i would say serzhant would be the better choice for the remaining command role
random ass officer left over
Just to add, I'm going to try expand the role loadouts a bit, likely some Merc drip for the most part, balaclavas, glasses, etc.
Drip or die
Indeed
we should make a USSP discord server to help activity
so that there can be planned times for everyone to get on
I'd be down for that
We probably should atp, the other minor factions are doing that
That's attempt number 2, those who know, know
Just as an aside
Please LARP, shit like this drags down reputation of the faction and the server
There's a reason Mono gets labelled as LRP/NRP
it grims
Camelot is just... Very mixed.
Some people actually want the rp, some just want to steal the multifabs and everything not nailed down from camelot and anything else nearby.
Which is sad days.
I do know..... guh...
Who the fuck is that even, I never saw them play before, thats some shit ass
St. Leintenant for head.
Serzhant for squad leaders.
Pehotinez for rifleman
Thats if you want to follow logical chain of command
If you want to add fucked up lore
Starshina - head, not an officer yet, but not a regular low rank. Litteraly left behind a day before his promotion to petty officer rank. In heavy booze binge trying his best to keep low ranks okay and prove himself he is worthy to be officer already.
Serzhant - squad leader.
Ryadovoy - rifleman.
Efreitor - whitelist only role for good behavior. (litteraly what it is irl)
No need for dedicated medic, let people pick their roles themselves
Just bring appropriate drip for them to be different visually
Kinda agree with the no dedicated medic since given how Camelot currently is everyone at least knows basic first aid but might be an idea to keep loadout specific for medical stuff to something like a slightly higher rank than rifleman
or
maube keep lieutenant
and just riflemen
would sell the all officers are dead idea
Lieutenant IS an officer
aside from one

Camelot needs better security
lowkey somehow having the bridge bombed is a skill issue on our part
was looking through the renders file and found this peace of nostalgia
Kinda hard to stop people bombing it when they have the same access, and we cant really setup turrets and whatnot
Idk one trigger happy guy on the gunnery console can solve the issue
baikal isso fuckingbig
Done so as well, spiraled into an hour of remembering every little detail about it, Baikal was too good, it was shot because of jealousy
😭 i know, originally i just thought i was coping but nah, baikals straight up better in so many ways, especially for being shared with civs
Only downsides are a lack of cargo dock and cryogenics
Not to mention, only one small patch of kudzu, impossible to accidentally loose, even if you did there were airlocks that stopped the spread
meanwhile on camelot all it takes is 1 person brushing past this door to kudzu the entire station
i miss baikal station....
Baikal🥹
It really lent itself well to that Civ oriented faction rep the we had
The middle of the station has public research and all the services (med, kitchen, bar). It all fits together pretty well.
The public research was major, I'd always see that storage room above it repurposed to a lathe room, people would donate mats to the silo, it was peak
Faction outposts, if/when they become a thing, should really be looking to Baikal for inspiration imo

Well tbf Camelot bridge has the USSP console which people sort of just use
Uh, weird question
Anyone got a screenshot of the current USSP Remnant description on the company page?
I won't be at my computer until way later and I'd like to read it now if possible
Sure gimme 5 minutes
Once one of the dominant forces in the Colossus sector, the United Soviet Socialist Planets are a coalition of hard workers. Abused by their High Command
and left in the Colossus sector, remnants of this once-great faction must now fight for survival, either for themselves, their legacy, or their people. NOTE:
using this company does NOT make your character applicable to faction engagement rules - you must still follow ROE depending on your role.
Yeah... It may become irrelevant very quickly once we get roles in, but I have cooked something a little less slapdash and a bit more Sovlfvl
I will be back with my proposal later
One message removed from a suspended account.
So you abused trust other people have built for cowardly grief? Thats pretty much what I have been bragging about here for a long time now
All USSP will be readded during April fools day so we need to lock in
Camelot will be 40km away where all the drones are so it’s free research points for us to turn Camelot into a station
Idea is we turn off the anchor then tug Camelot to central
Readds USSP roles
Hear me out, you can only purchase drone ships, and far reaches droneships are all mudskippers.
Also, every wreck and roind welded together into one giant ass roid
Since when USSP trust RSC?
Camelot has no restrictions on access.
Pirates on this server do not designate themselves as such.
They wear same cloths as regular mercs and spacers, some even loot USSP gear to blend in.
The issue is, you cant definitely tell who is who and what intents they have. And people playing pirates actively abuse and exploit this. Take example of recent raiders. They joined as mercs on camelot, started rdming. Everyone were confused about who is friend and who is foe.
Difference between pirates here and actual raiders is the density of this shit occuring.
Skill issue
"I lack counter argument that contributes to topic, but my insecurities dont let me just drop this"
skill issue
actually spacers join on Camelot and rdm
noob

Real
Mald is for General chat
As an aside, I'm finished moving to my newly assigned Class II dwelling this weekend, and I have Monday off. I'll be working on shit again, current list is:
- Roles, Minor Faction guidelines are being cooked by Fluffen
- Updated Company info page is basically in first draft, main goal is LARP hooks and a clearer identity goal
- I was working on the Company research update, that fell into purgatory, basically need to redo as the branch I was working on is in the stone age
USSP will live trust
Oh wait, I'm still doing my April Fools bit
Grumble grumble commies
I'm fully engaged in my april fools bit
USSP players are wonderful, cause no problem at all and we love them
we also totally plan to bring USSP back as a faction
(I'm jk you guys are fine)
Except that one guy who slithered his way into me discussing ship balancing and was half ranting in favor of his favorite group
God damn, congrats, you get feel like a foxhole developer.
We love em?
I'll send my Marines to glass Camelot, my marines locked me in my office and keep talking about this thing called payroll
So uh, they'll be there eventually
To this very day you be locked in that office
Trying to find this relic called 'payroll'
Well I have 2 options
MARSOC or pay my marines
I'm leaning towards MARSOC
Marsoc is like a green goblin mask, its calling you
At least they have STANDARDS AND DISCIPLINE
I keep telling my Marines this, but they keep saying lol and I can't eat Standards and Discipline
You know fair
You could try writing it in crayon, but they've probably eaten all of those

Hello . Is this the larp faction? This must be the larp faction judging by the exchange above
Probably, ello welcome to ussp channel

some are more larp than others
it depends on who you interact with

okay so
genuine issue USSP has
nothingburger
the suits are majorly recolored sec suits
the role icons are
literally sec
it doesn't feel complete in the slightest
you mean actual suits/uniforms
their hardsuit lineup looks fine
Hmm the ussp modsuits are cool.
the modsuits are technically recoloured security ones
the scoutsuit, L-27 and the other two hardsuits are fine
That was the fundamental issue with the faction tbh
Gear is largely resprites as you say (I think this was the case with Paradises USSP), our mechanics are... Just cargo bounties I think, but anyone can do that on Camelot now
The ships are solid, well based on my neverplayer opinion
I just finished moving apartments today, so I'll be looking to start YAML/Lore slopping soon, I do have a plan for content... Although making hardsuits not slop isn't on my list because spriting
-# it would be nice if USSP had a spriting guy
@pulsar wagon i need you to tell me what you want in THIS area
Remapping camelot to be a PMC/company hub
and this is the area dedicated to USSP
Example of the RSC module
so camelot is going to be the blackmarket POI ?
Sorta
ships are solid ye
part black market part company hub
basically
is it gonna be the same place that houses RSC and such
Do you need specifics or just like, a list of things that should be there?
Just a list
of what USSP wants in there
the default is:
- research
- Armoury
- Refining/lathe room
- Crew quarters
- Cargo/micro shipyard
extras can be added or basic features removed
RSC has a micro bar/meeting room for example
if you guys become an actual thing content wise and with players we might give you Commielot
xir they are getting a part of commielot...
what if they had their OWN station
with blackjack
and hookers
mabye if they have a large portion of the playerbase
I got ya, I was going to list those but you got em covered
-# We'll need the USSP vend as well, although, we might move away from that at some point
I think, we could use:
- Maybe a small office for the commissar, when we get the roles in
- A briefing area (Lore I'm writing is firmly putting us in the military vibe again)
- Some kind of RP space like a bar would be nice, maybe a botany set up with a tray or 2, depending on the size, just exclusively potato seeds

Otherwise, I think the essentials are covered, everything else is for LARP/Sovl
Oh
And the server needs to be USSP one for now
We'll need the Lathe for that as well
Preferably permanently anchored to prevent thievery... But I'll leave that up to you
Lathe yes, USSP server will be in the central module as a placeholder
i want to eventualy unify the research of all companies under 1 server
just a remark on the science module here, id say either push the room one tile down to remove the 2 blast doors for the artifact room, or just make the tile that the blast door is on a lattice tile and create armor between the thruster and room
Been meaning to ask, what does the middle module look like? Is it a public space shared by all companies? Or is it just pure utility (like if it has a bar, kitchen, botany or something those things would be less important for the other modules)
That's a good point
Public/RP space for your generic merc and other companies
has:
- Research
- Bridge
- Power generation/distribution
- 2 cargo bays
- Medical
- Borany
- Bar/kitchen
- Disposals
- Jani room
- generic shipyard for normal/exped ships
- All the vends that base camelot has
Does it have a scrapyard?
YES!
basically the main one has everything important in it as default
Sovlful🥹
with the caviat that everything is bigger/more advanced
for example: Research for example is bigger and has more features compared to the RSC resaerch
Ay my research going in the thruster

So public research is contributing to a shared USSP server (which will eventually be a universal Minor Faction server)?
aye
with some coding i can eventually split it into 2 tech trees
1 global one
and 1 private one
Have a look on how tech/research works in Terra invicta
yeah im coming to home soon
So we'll eventually be subdivided into our own research paths
Based
basically
in the global one the entire Station advances as a whole
for example
Each faction contributes to the tech named: Advanced industry
once its researched
multiple new techs open up in the private tech tree for the factions to research
lets say
RSC gets advanced breaching tools
USSP could get better ore refining
Viper could get better thrusters/gyros
MAWC would get more advanced versions of theyr machines, allowing them to produce more advanced comps/guns to sell to others
While everyone would get the advanced tools as a start (aka power drill, experimental welder, jaws of life)
A base for all these groups, most having no love for tsf or pdv..... functioning like a dysfunctional syndicate....
Welcome back syndies
Looks the the new faction is the USSPVGRSC
But fr, this is all pretty good stuff
Damn, when you put it like that it makes me wish mercs could have the old asr drip, i miss those jumpsuits, so much sovl
Ikr, but still I do like this idea
UnitedSovietGroupCorsairs
holy shit we have just reinvented the syndicate
what if USSP and RSC gets into shootouts
that is just average tuesday
RSC has a good ammount of lore..
Durstblut has been our loreslave from the start
that room with 3 beds, is that a snuggle room?

what suits are the worst offenders
i coooouuuuld pooossibly try to redraw some but i dont know which style i would have to stray from and which to pursue instead
Zastavnik modsuit and the varyag modsuit
Real?
Yeah what Bot said
I was actually having a think about that funnily enough, I was thinking something like the Marathon Security officer would be kino
The helmet is very distinct, I think most hard suits kinda opt for slim/sleek looks, where USSP suits should look sorta bulky but still practical
Honestly i think the zastavnik should just be made into a regular hardsuit
where’s this from
I just googled Marathon Security Officer and this came up
Apparently it's the Main Character of the trilogy
I only know the Marathon security stuff through Halo
MARATHON
OOOOOOOOOOORAAAAAh
yeah looks interesting
trying to make something bulky yet at the same time not (due to being modsuits) will be Very interesting
this could replace the varyag since i presume the zastavnik to be the heavier suit
what in the world is the parade suit
it looks so silly

Gear sprites are fine, its literally just the modsuits
Do the modsuits look good ?
I only know how the non-modsuits look like cause I find modsuits somewhat Icky
the normal hardsuits do look fine
i've checked what modsuits look like in ss13 and the ussp modsuits really are just
greener security suits

Change was ultimately requested by @rain remnant
oh that wasn't a request really it was just it felt like sec reskinned
which is what it was
First experience with a, allegeable, USSP member.
He was on a Mudskipper doing piracy, and I was the one in a USSP ship

cant even get a mudskipper on camelot, 100% fake
does not uses a ussp ship to raid, so therefore, faker
so with this announcement, who lookin to be the leader of ussp?
note the whitelisted company
unless we want to move to whitelisted company?
but i dont think doing so would be best
a whitelist would somewhat interfere with whatever the 'ussp' pirate is doing
though yeah a whitelist for a faction that is supposed to be the people's front is kind of icky
sum slight
think it looks pretty close to the reference mjolnir recon armor
taking the pallete from the tacsuit for the armor plates
Could do a split or a blacklist system, split being USSP gets split into two where people I watched to see if they can offically join the USSP and the blacklist being where if they do un-USSP like behavior they can no longer join the USSP or something
Idk I dunno how things work
Starscape mining ship mention
Also whitelisted faction would be cool
no more “WHO LET THE TERRORIST BLOW UP THR CAMELOT SERVER”
More giant USSP fleets
have being the common soldier be anyone not on the whitelist so they can still join and anyone higher rank will be on the whitelist
yeah that
and we should try to get any in game players to join the discord
for maximum planning and trolling
HOLY BASED
I like this, suit looks good and follows our current colouring
It hits that retro futuristic vibe pretty well
And the helmet visor is fire
It's got character and sovl
If we were to do new hard suits, I reckon we just touch-up our current lineup instead of adding more
-# Hardsuit bloat is real
Bloat is fake news
As an aside, here's my current proposed company description
Will likely change a bit, but I'm keen to reframe the Remnants and give some more identity and LARP hooks
*The USSP Remnants are the surviving elements of the 78th Expeditionary Fleet and its attached 13th Red Banner Naval Infantry Battalion. Once tasked with securing the Colossus Sector under Operation Roundtable, the expeditionary fleet was shattered by an unexpected withdrawal order, with much of it lost in the retreat through drone-held space.
Cut off from their distant home and left without further orders from USSP Naval Command, the survivors now endure in isolation. The Naval Infantry, burdened by sustained losses and threadbare leadership, remain a battle-tested but increasingly strained force. Their former stronghold of Camelot is frequently contested, its bones picked over by industrious mercenaries.
Held together by camaraderie, pride, and the stubborn belief that their sacrifice must still have meaning, the Remnants now fight to preserve what remains, with some refusing to believe that their mission is over and holding fast to the hope that one day the Union will return.*
The Naval Infantry are effectively the Marines of the USSP, considered to be a more elite force to the regular army and Navy, focussed more on space combat, boarding actions, piloting shuttles, guarding stations, etc.
The roles (when those become a thing), Rifleman, Serzhant, etc. will be the Naval Infantry
Oh and the batallion motto is
First Among Equals
awesome
Does look great
regarding the faction content i had a thought that with the predicament that the ussp forces in monolith found themselves in it could make sense for them to try to develop equipment that would prioritize individual survivability
not sure whatever that would be but it's just a general idea
communists being a situation where they prioritize individuality is quite funny
its more so about conserving manpower
you don't want to run out of soldiers when the resupply chain is no longer existing
it is in a way ironic
im not saying its an unlikely or illogical situation, just an ironic one but in an amusing way
meant it as a positive thing ❤️
Well this is the interesting angle with Remnants
A professional group of Soldiers, who spent the past however long throwing everything and the kitchen sink at trying to secure Colossus, suddenly wake from cryo one day to find everything is basically looted and gone
Or, even worse, they lived through losing to a bunch of drones
The question becomes What now?
That's why I'm focussing on background rather than direction, I want to see how players use it (if at all) and how things with new Camelot play out (Merc/Minor Faction POI)
I mean if you are low on manpower your tech will like gravitate towards keeping who you have left still alive
absolutely
Not just saying that because I want to make a walking tank XD
it can be both lmao
yeah there still should be freedom as to how the sparse groups that are left will treat the situation
It's why I like the USSP. The theme is relentlessly indusrialistic communists. It makes sense for their gear to be rugged and protective. Tech might not be the fanciest but sure as hell will be the longest lasting
And this becomes a thing when Roles are added
You might want that gear for survivability, meanwhile the politically indoctrinated Commissar:
WHY ARE YOU OUT OF UNIFORM SOLDIER
Just in terms of lore stuff, I'm cooking:
- An SOP (Pre remnant, just the general SOP)
- The little red book for the USSP, working title is The Common Cause
Nice Fallout ref and nice lore
yesss the monolith communist manifesto
We going to go out and find space Marx lads
Just coming back to this because I missed it...
But yeah
USSP WL is probably not the way to go currently, not unless:
- It becomes necessary to preserve LARP/PQ
- We get some leadership and actual WL criteria
I don't think WL is a bad thing necessarily, I think RSC/VG seem to be using it to good effect.
But as things are, I just don't see people wanting it, not until we give them a Reason to want it
WL for USSP would be more so a player quality check than anything else
Well I know that's how you guys use it
But VG has some level of coordination, we don't, not yet at least
But, I do see that happening for us eventually... As I look at things, I feel like it's needed and wanted
Events, good PQ, new content (even if it's reskins of existing stuff), proper lore, all stuff that will get us into a better position
Grab trusted players, make them commisars and let them organise ussp larpers
trust
That's one of the plans I had, a lead by example approach
Maybe Commissar could be WL'd, as they would be political officers and enforcers of command and discipline
But uh, not my decision to make. I ain't in charge. I just make suggestions I think are in our interest
Imo whitelist companies give of too many meta clique vibes for me, like "hey guys lets make a private discord for our special private group just for us" its just, ugh (no offense to vg and rsc though)
Commissar is there to go “NOT A STEP BACK”
and make political decision
I think we can be whitelisted if we make the requirements of joining as an average soldier easy and laxed
Or just make upper ranks whitelisted
i just personally dont like whitelists, if theres a whitelist to a role i want to play i just never do it
We really just need a discord to organize times where everyone could collectively get on
Because activity
yeah it feels too bureaucratic or something
Does whitelist prevent people from joining as the company
I thought it was just needed for a discord
RSC does this to my knowledge
You kind of, audition IC
Which is the best way to do it imo, because it feels organic and LARPFUL
But this is very much what if
yes, as far as i know
maybe it'll actually be fine if the 'whitelist' is just a vague "Cool guy" badge
Yup
One of us would have to use a command in game
Also the problem in game is that it’s hard to distinguish who is USSP on Camelot
that is true
i think the company owners thing supports multiple players
Ikr like at the end of the day its just a role in a video game, it shouldn't be some kind of like... special club that follows you outside the game that you have to apply for like a job (thats why i dont like whitelisted roles in general tbh like what DV does), like, its only game
Also kinda why i avoid hrp
I might be a no life loser but im not that much of a no life loser
I should highlight:
currently, there are no plans to make us WL, very much ideasguying
I think, getting some of the changes in game, like the Company Page update, roles and more lore stuff, and seeing what results from it, is the best approach
whitelist can range from having to fill out a whole .pdf to just asking if you want it to
True is just a discussion at this point
tldr We'll see when we get there
As of right now no one really as taken the reins of ussp, not after nick left
ussp... run by a Soviet....
I don't really think we need someone to 'take over'
atleast not yet
Rather be run like a committe
Being frank, I think we kind of universally agree it would not have went well
I was really not keen on that direction personally (ie Nick)
But I guess the issue is now, we have nothing really to grasp onto in terms of direction
My own thoughts are, establish the base lore, get Roles in game as a minor faction and let the Commissars drive the USSP in game, like it was back as a faction. Internal conflict can arise if a USSPirate shows up, because the Commissar will think:
- they are shaming the Battalion
- they are shaming the Military
- they are shaming the State
yeah
Yes
Actually that does kind of sound cool
Leave it completely un whitelisted but allow the intra-faction conflict as some break the codes
I like that, be larping like the Soviets in the historical fiction flick, death of stalin
It's why I wanted a briefing room on the new POI
There should be more ship vouchers round start for USSP
So that they can have a completely cashless society
As USSP is the only faction with printable vouchers for every ship in their faction
So instead of buying ships USSP manufactures ships
Meanwhile credits are mainly used for trade with other factions
I do think, becoming a Minor Faction opens up the possibility of having gameplay loops specific to the USSP
Having mechanics focussed more on building ships rather than buying them is pretty on point.
Definitely think roles should have a basic USSP ship voucher when they spawn in... Assuming it's not abused in some way
I've also been thinking, what if...
USSP Spetsnaz, admeme role, or have it that repairing a Comm Relay POI spawns them in. The lore I'm cooking has them currently called the Directorate of Special Tasks USSP-DST
A lotta what if, but I think it's neat
me when ussp haq the potential of becoming a REAL FACTION again
Me when sad reality
WYCI says the Maint
Lmao says the senior contrib
fuh naw says the seniormins
There is a simple solution to this. When portstrike happens take over both Halcyon orHelos. Chances are we'll end up out numbering them anyway
So, out of curiosity, what happened to the USSP? I heard it was a faction, then it isn't, then it became a company, but you guys talk as if it's basically dead?
what happens?
Story time, gather round the fire comrades...
So, USSP started life as a third faction against Rogues/ASR and the TSF, early few rounds saw the highest player count and interest
Overtime, USSP slowly faded into the background, it became a third party in the faction war with usually a lower player count and a lack of content support beyond ships. We earned the rep as the civ oriented LARP faction
Eventually, it came to a poll, literally 50/50 split
USSP was then demoted to a company, became the Remnants... Then came the dark days
USSP, lost things like Comms. The Merc loadout stuff and readding Comms was me
Overtime, we had a bit of a resurgence, but that came and went (RIP OldMan and Ace)
So now, we are kinda adrift, a lot of USSPirates and all kind of FRP
There's still a lot of interest though, relative to most Companies tbh
I'm hoping the Minor Faction roles, new lore I'm cooking and some new/refreshed content will give us a lifeline
TLDR: USSP is a potential burger
That probably explains the Pirate. Also, readding Comms?
So know how we have dedicated USSP Comms the headset/encryption key?
When we were demoted to company, we lost that, and a lot of stuff like ship accesses (which is fixed I think?)
We are the only company with dedicated Comms afaik
Mmmmm burger…
Ship access was fix last month ago if I recall (thank fuck)
all USSP players need to find a time to all log on and lock in on Camelot
We probably ought to make a couple more Camelot moments until it gets mothballed
I did the same when our time as a faction was coming to an end, there was some pretty funny moments
I'm not sure what my availability is like this weekend (or if my WiFi will even be sorted by then), but just to throw out a day... Saturday? Kinda want to get coverage for a full shift if we want presence
I can prolly make a saturday
heavily dependant on timezone
Are we majority US or EU?
Ideally, we could try line it up at a round restart that suits most.
Not necessary really, I can't imagine people will do a whole 6 hours... Ok they might, I used to at least
This might be where a discord would help
dont know much of anything about other people here but im closer to eu
Russian.
and turk
How do you join?
Just pick company in char menu and that’s it, or is there any separate discord/app/whatever?
Literally pick company from character creation, we are not a whitelisted company
Thanks, I will join sometime next round :))

The bossman finally let you out of the Deadzone, welcome back
Lowkey, I am planning long term to take that on, if people want me to do that or if no one else wants to take that on.
And I am working on various bits towards that, I have my first lore PR ready to submit, I've started looking into getting roles back up (like the actual YAML) and I'm actually in a position where I can play again
Basically, I kinda want to prove that if people want me as the leader, that I can do a good job at it.
I keep having these Life of Brian moments
ur the leader
uncontested
the other chuds malded so hard they left for a nothingburger faction
A lot of USSP players forget to take USSP comms in loadouts
Or forget to choose nova as a language
Tbf, I think I only added the headset itself in loadouts
And I think most species need the Foreigner trait if they want to speak Nova
Roles will make this a non-problem... Roles are gonna be kino tbh
most species? like the ones with their own speclanguages?
i played as a tajaran and i was able to pick nova as a third language without needing the trait
They do?
Maybe I'm being dumb
That's probably the most likely answer
we should lock nova to USSP company
Or roles
imo it’s kind of weird that no one knows how to speak sol
Or whatever PDV speaks
I mean yea in terms of leadership its either you or somehow myself though I just do maintaince of Camelot or do sci, rarely I do ops against whomever deserves it.
oh so they just get faction specific languages
I don't think locking languages for factions to be the most sensical decision outside of just pvp comm interception
are you the engineering moth
leader might be the wrong word, it's really a committee like you said before
I think having Lav for events would be fun, people know the Moth all the way back from the faction days
I'm going to show up Saturday as a random chud that hasn't gamed in months
It's very much a collective effort if we want USSP to be kino
I am the best engineering moff around..... do ignore the incident in the olden days of Camelot... lav is not safe with science in those days
That Arti kept feeding that fire
We should plan a time for USSP enjoyers to get on
Absolutely, assuming I did this right,I was going to suggest the round restart at around <t:1775922300:t>
How does that work for people? It'll be in the evening/late evening in the EU, around lunchtime in the US
Saturday of course
Time to participate in glorious USSP vs RSC combat
it should be fine i think for the first half of the round
Ditto, not sure if I have a full 6 hours
But even just to get the whole gang together in-game, it would be peak🥹
Oh here's my bandaid for the Company description, this is what I settled on in the end
About the PR
Updated USSP Remnants company description to be a little more sovlful and bring it more in line with other companies. I added a flag because all the cool companies have one.
Why / Bala...
cinema
We were like, one of 3 maybe 4 companies to not have a picture in the description for some reason
I think Fluffen reviews lore changes now
I have begun looking at roles, PDAs are first on my list
There's some cool shiptest ones I'll be chopping and changing to make commie coded
would they fit with our current pdas v
Oh and the roles will be:
- Rifleman
- Serzhant
- Commissar
They are keeping their OG titles, but I am thinking of adding some more QoL gear and drip over from Merc. I think the camo jumpsuits fit for Rifleman for example
It is literally gonna be resprites, but I'll try make em distinct
Also you caan upgun/uparmour the ships a bit if it means only USSP will be abile to buy them
that’s turning em into a faction

which could work
Most Shiptest...
Wait
That's after prompting me, I was thinking the other night, are we keeping USSP shipyard public?
A minor faction

no
company ships are separated
Vg ships belong to vg
so on
so forth
ouuugh....
Yes sir, another layer of plastitanium please
But yeah, if USSP ships/gear are gonna be exclusive, I could roll back the Merc loadout stuff I added when roles are in
And the access changes on the ships
Commielot remap first
Yeah that
Yeah, it gives me more time to cook tbh
Ideally, if I could group a lot of smaller changes on my list into the role PR, getting it all out the door at once should give some hype
Here's my current list:
- Company description (awaiting review)
- Roles (started)
- more guidebook lore (cooking)
- USSP little red book, Naval Infantry SOP (In game lore trinkets for roles, writing lore for this)
- Banner (I was asked for this, I haven't looked it yet)
- Research (on hold until we figure out Minor faction research)
- USSP Discord
After that, we will be in the realm of NEW CONTENT
But my list is just essentials currently
... I was hoping you'd say that
We are simply, showing a proof of concept with Minor Faction roles
The role spawns for mapping, should remain the same anyways, I'll check when I'm back from work
Got ya
I'll have a better idea of what needs work when I have it in front of me
It won't be much tbh
