"Imperial Fabrication Facility - Delta.
This facility is managed by a sector spanning Overmind (Or perhaps Warmind) class AI, and is responsible for the production of all Imperial Automated Defense vessels in this region. Destroying it would cripple the ADS presence in the Colossus Sector."

“Imperial cryo sanctum - Epsilon.
Massive vaults hold hundreds of Asakim in suspended animation. Shipyard fabricators produce their insertion vessels using local ore deposits. Loss of such a facility would undoubtedly ruin their ability to deploy Asakim in the sector.”

"Overrun Habitation Station - Kokoron 9.
Chimera swarm this once bustling habitat, now filled with their consuming flesh. Housed within its bleeding walls is a hivemind node, and loss of such a critical link will sever their connections in the sector completely."

"Forgotten Shipyard - Lusiton Industries 22.
Massive docks that pulse with meat spit out their corrupted hull models. Sending their plague ships into the sector and abroad, seeking to incorporate more into the fold. If their automatic corrupted refineries are lost, they will surely be pushed back for a time."

These are event POIs that spawn during the sector threat rounds, and would effect how the threats spawn or effect something they regularly use. Such as loss of Kokoron 9 would remove the chimera hivemind for 1.5 hours. Or destruction of Epsilon will stop asakim spawns for 2 hours. loss of Lusiton Industries 22 would prevent chimera from spawning for 2 hours. and loss of Delta would stop all ADS models from spawning for 3 hours.

The idea is to make the threats interactive during the shift, instead of just THE THING THAT KILLS YOU AND YOU CAN ONLY KILL THEM AND WAIT UNTIL THEY RESPAWN.
Now you can take the fight to their stations. To their vaults. Effect how they spawn and provide an area (and valid reason) for the factions to work together... or betray each other.

There would be loot, but these would be very hard targets.

Sick suggestion, too bad it's not a bounty so it won't go anywhere :(

True

tall coral
#

If so, then the wider people can place pressure for it, and see if any coders/mapslaves are willing to do it

#

its only 4 moderate sized station maps (sevast sized) and likely a bit of code work

glossy mortar
#

I bet @nimble ginkgo would instantly claim it.

nimble ginkgo
#

i already saw it when you posted it btw

tall coral
#

Its better than exped and Vgroid slopping

Problem

vast furnace

I better be able to walk into the asakim soldier POI and see this

glossy mortar

If these dungeons are going to be player enforced, filled with chimera, asakim, and manipulators-
what's the challenge supposed to be if those ghost roles are not filled

vast furnace
#

Rows and rows of unopenable pods

glossy mortar
#

Or Alternatively, are they gonna have exped slop AI defenders

vast furnace
#

ADS facility could be this thingamajig, it only feels fitting

tall coral
#

And chimera have those fleshbeasts that could be placed onto them, which are already AI'd and will attack non-chimera

  • 4-6 chimera on Kokoron 9 and 2-8 on Lusiton Industries 22

Chimera POI

#

Infected Jupiter type vibe

tall coral
#

but lets not get ahead of ourselves

vast furnace
#

Would be really cool if chimera just had a giant capital that's completely overtaken by the biomass

#

Nothing inside it is recognizable, the hull is treated like a tough exoskeleton for the thinner chimera filled interior

glossy mortar

Unrelated, but you mentioned covered in biomass-
We should bring over the Xenomorphs from goob. Which technically I guess is just Xenomorphs from 13

nimble ginkgo
#

which technically are just xenomorphs

vast furnace
#

Xenos as an alternative chimera mode

nimble ginkgo
#

make biothreats also xenos and chemicals

tall coral
#

I've been talking about an ADS enemy threat this whole time while forgetting chimera exist

#

how foolish of me

vast furnace
#

You are the ADS guy to be fair

wheat coral
#

we have the xeno tileset now

#

using this for POI's is half the reason i had it ported

tall coral
#

If we color it to a meaty red then we could use it up for chimera ships

And make harder boney exoskeleton version that's about equivalent to plasti

glossy mortar
#

okay. Code it :^)

spark kettle
#

That's not even code that's Yaml and spriting

vast furnace
#

might think about it idk

would these stations have anything of value on them? Because it seems like the best way to deal with all of these stations would be to destroy them with ship guns and not interact with them outside of that.

#

It would need to be something of extreme value for the chimera one as they have a major advantage in defensive ground combat with their kudzu
