I had an idea of repairing a derelict (the grey ones) into a completely functional ship,but what i need to do to actually own the ship and being able to sell it if i want?

You need to buy a shittle like baeg, take its shuttle console and strap it to a grid

Thats how you get a ID protected grid

When i restored power,moved the shuttle console from my old one and connected all thrusters correctly,the derelict didnt move at all. I think is just that derelicts are unable to move like a normal ship.

some derelicts cant move, best to dock or bump them. if they move, you can fly them

your other option is chop the derelict in half to make a new grid and fly that

iv had some amusing times strapping engines to station parts iv cut off
