Nah it's all good. Also when it comes to the advanced modules, only the correct frame can accept the advanced module it corresponds to, and you can't remove base modules

So for example, only a salvage borg can use the advanced salvage module, and you cant remove the 3 default mods that come with the frame (basic salvage, ore scanner, GPS)

since borg module number are limited (at least on other server they are, can't check here) this would be nice to be able to remove them to gain module room

The module room is limited here and in other servers too. Removing default modules isn't a thing in any server. It really comes down to making the decision of what the correct frame/ modules you choose are. Also you could just build a 2nd borg casing if you need more options.

Yeah, salvage borgos do have a drill, and if you're needing a ranged weapon just slap the combat module in them
