Dusk Group

“We stand or fall together.”

Mission Statement: Veterans, mercenaries, corporate security. Used up and discarded, neglected by the governments and corporations that cast them off when they were no longer useful. The outcasts, the downtrodden, the scarred - At the sunset of that chapter in their lives, the Dusk Group offers a home for those who need a new cause to fight for. We head out for the fringes of space to bring order to chaos. To build a home for ourselves. We protect each other. When one suffers, all suffer. We stand or fall together.

Alignment: UGC (Tentative)

Core Members:

  • President: Commander Victoria Sunset
  • CFO: Lieutenant Shana McTavish

You also don’t need to list “core members, but otherwise is harmless in this context.

Description is wishy-washy. Implies that the NGC purely out for corporate interests and rogue agents, which often are out for corporate interests, are inversely compared.

There’s obvious flutter as in its full of fluff whilst trying to remain completely neutral; it needs some work. Barring that, there’s very little that separates it from the other, other than it’s nice logo.

UGC was a typo, and yes we were trying to fluff it a bit

Our reading of the NGC lore might have been flawed, if you want a second pass, then we'll give it one

I’d highly suggest it, if only for anything that truly makes it stand out from “I’m a neutral and dangerous mercenary company. <arg/hoorah/huzzah>.”

Might not be the forum to ask, but why were neutral factions dropped?

heavy ravine
#

It’s alright to ask, and “Neutral” factions weren’t really intended to start with. It was a tag for a mixture of “I’m unsure”, and “could be either”.

#

In addition that in practice, they didn’t fit the spirit of what we’re going for.

#

Mechanically it’s also painful to implement positive (non-violent) connectivity between companies when you have a massive gap of “GREED. KILL EVERYONE.”

jovial drum
#

That's fair. Is it alright that we in-fact want to make a group that is canonically run by our characters for the sake of roleplay?

heavy ravine
#

Sure IC, keep in mind guidelines: Don’t revolve a faction around a single particular character.

jovial drum
#

The faction we want to build and expand is about its members, first and foremost

#

That's all members

heavy ravine
#

Characters can be members, but all organizations are extensions from deep RS or NGC space; founded back home and are extending into the rogue as part of colonization under the NGC, or in the RS case, they are founded at home and are fighting the NGC on home grounds.

That gives me some ideas for what I'm about to write. I definitely am not going to wear other inspirations on my sleeve a bit with it.

heavy ravine
#

No worries. There’s no rush and it’s otherwise a very lenient & open window.

Is it alright to be loose with "On behalf of their home planets" and frame it more "To build something new when we don't have a home"?

heavy ravine
#

Sure- feel free to check out the Armadan Exiles as an example for that kind of premise.
