I've always kinda felt like most of the complexity in RtDL - SA was redundant. Which is the kind of opinion that gets people to bring out the torches and pitchforks, so I'm not going to insist that games do what I prefer. But I genuinely liked that most of FL moves were simpler and didn't require a dozen button inputs. I genuinely struggle with games that have too many controls. But again, I'm not sure "dumbass who can't always remember left from right" is what you want to design a game for, so idk
