The flowers being a power rangers-esque team and you having to recruit your classmates throughout the chapter (I imagine Catti and Jockington would play antagonistic roles (that could also be where the “charred by jealousy” part of Gerson’s monologue comes from))||

I’ve been saying that this dialogue is foreshadowing for that

||I think the “trapped in asylum” part of asgore’s prophecy could easily come from the flowers kidnapping him. He kept them in glass containers for years, but he’s the one constricted by him. Perhaps you fight him when he’s being controlled by vines?||

There's also the line ||"I was only trying to protect everyone." Aside from paralleling their falling out in Undertale, this is the main reason I think Asgore was involved in what's going on there, before he tried to back out and Carol burned him.||

||Elaborating on what I started saying this afternoon, I personally think Asgore, Carol, and maybe Alvin created a Dark World (the first Dark World?) inside the Shelter to act as a safe haven for when that calamity in the prophecy came around. Sort of how Castle Town acts as a sanctuary for Darkners.||

||Maybe Dess created it for them, or maybe Dess and Kris were eavesdropping when they made it and she "fell into their creation."||

I don't think it would be Man Country, because I don't think the Eggs will ever be important enough to impact the canon that way.||

||Kris has no say in your actions during the weird route. You are a dark passenger that has decided to corrupt their childhood friend, and Kris is nearly powerless to stop you. I don't think Spamton is capable of making the distinction.||

Aside from the timing, it really seems like ||Kris tried demon summoning again like he did with Cattie, and this time it worked. He didn't get a demon, he got you. But that might be just the same, depending on your actions.||

Not sure that's quite how it went down, of course. Seems too convenient, let's be honest.

Yes, yes ||the Knight is almost certainly Dess physically. But Dess probably doesn't have a mouth on her stomach, unless I am forgetting something about deer anatomy. So something likely happened to her to make her that way. I think it's like a Venom symbiote thing where she's bonded involuntarily to a Spawn.||

chapter 4 ||a couple months ago i saw a character analysis that concluded that susie and ralsei are supposed to parallel two separate types of video game players. susie is a brand new player who doesn't know how the game and its universe work yet, slowly figuring out game mechanics like actings, and lore like how darkners are objects brought to life. ralsei is an experienced player who already knows how the game works, teaching new players like susie mechanics as well as explaining the lore. i think chapter 4 really convinced me that this is absolutely intentional. susie gets "spoiled" for the end of the game and is like "that's never gonna happen", while ralsei tried to actively hide this from her since he already knows how the whole story will go.

also noelle obviously also parallels the type of gamer who constantly finds glitches and breaks the whole continuity of the game||

Ch 4 ||if the rudy is knight theory is correct, then it all makes sense. To find dess, knight must open a fountain. He thinks he’ll save his daughter, but really he’ll just cause the end of light and the fun gang will have to stop him.||

Yeah, the shadow crystals will probably lead to direct gameplay and are easier to acquire. My theory is that they lead to a hidden 8th chapter because of the ending of chapter 4 || says that we are half way done even though the game only has 7 chapters || but it's probably not true

So I think I've pieced together the scene with ||Asgore|| in Chapter 4...

||"I have to look one more time," and then he goes to get a "black shard" out of Carol and Rudy's bedroom. "Trapped in Asylum." Not an Asylum, like a mental institution, but asylum, meaning protection or shelter.||

||I think Asgore got kicked off the police force for using his access to the Shelter to open Dark Fountains to look for Dess, because that's where she went missing. But because he wasn't the person who created the first fountain there, she isn't there.||

What continues to baffle me is ||why Carol allows Asgore to have free run of her house while she isn't around, because if he knows what happened to Dess, he has access to anything she has on the subject as well.||

I think ||The knight could have had enough time to give someone a shadow crystal... But for some reason they just didn't yet?||

Seems like, based on dialogue, ||Tenna had been working with the Knight for some time before our adventure began... perhaps a candidate as a crystal holder...? It would parallel Spamton's scenario... But I guess the intended deal was derailed by the 3 heroes...||

So really, it just seems like ||The knight is the one giving everyone crystals||... But chapter 2 is a big problem chronologically...

Andrew Cunningham posed the theory that the "Star" mentioned in the book could be referring to a prodigy rather than a celestial body (such as a young multitalented reindeer).||

||Carol specifically has a "Black Shard" in her room, which is an object that becomes a weapon in the dark world that's especially effective against dark enemies. Kris's Black Shard was chipped off of the Knight's weapon (the "Black Knife" just to make it extra confusing), but I suppose it just has to be a chunk of the same material. I suppose it's possible that Asgore isn't the most reliable narrator, but I feel like we have to take Toby's word that only the things he describes as Shadow Crystals are Shadow Crystals.||

||That by itself isn't too hard to justify. It suggests that Carol and Asgore have mounted expeditions into the shelter Dark World, making or finding a weapon to carve their way through anything they perceived as a threat.||

||You'd instead have to ask, did Carol discover her daughter was taken by the Titans and immediately switch sides, or (through absurdly specific withholding of information to the player) have Carol and the Knight never actually met one another?||

||I don't think it was a literal kidnapping, perhaps more like an accidental communion. But the Knight resembles a Titan in the way it looks and moves, and the goals it appears to work towards only really benefit the Titans. So it has to be acting off a drive to do something on the Titans' behalf. Perhaps the Knight is the only Titan with that sort of intelligence, the combination of Lightner mind and Titan instinct.||

||Ok so it seems like it's heavily implied the Knight is the one dropping and/or giving shadow crystals to every location so far. Whether the crystals were placed as an IRL object prior to the dark worlds existing, or if Dark Worlds are always there, doesn't really matter in regards to what I want to say||:

||Shadow Crystals very much seem to be more like Forshadowing Crystals based on the texts provided so far. But why would someone like the Knight be giving these artifacts away, especially if they eventually could be used against them||?

||If the knight is Dess, it would be fitting, especially since one of Noelle's major traits is looking between the lines and breaking progression... Perhaps the crystals' placements are the result of whatever remains of her within the Knight... One last measure to help others find her||...?
