He’s always been athletic, as shown by how he incorporated more parkour into his web-slinging in Into The Spiderverse, he feels like his life is threatened essentially so he gets to use his spidey senses against the other Spiders who can’t (while still getting hit and caught off guard, even being caught by Peter B Parker which shows that those with greater skill can still catch him), and they weren’t trying to be too violent so there’s enough stakes for it to be intense but not enough to where the odds would be so incredibly stacked against Miles and it’s so good dude||

Of course, if WhatsApp-Man was there he would’ve been easily defeated but it can’t be helped

I know people hate that ATSV ||ends in a cliffhanger, but I do think the way they did the cliffhanger was the best way to end it. The movie’s pacing is already really insane and I think adding on to it would ruin it, I’m already feeling tense from the prowler miles reveal, and seeing Spot at Miles’ real universe after seeing the power he has is oomph, I don’t see how they could’ve just continued without some part of the movie taking a hit||

Keep seeing a take about how ATSV ||doesn’t have an emotional scene and that’s really strange to me||

There ||were four that really stood out to me, and even if they aren’t as strong as Like Whats Up Danger on their own, they’re still so good||

||Like yeah, Miles rising up to be Spiderman is such a great shot, but seeing how far he’s come from his problems with the algorithm, the “Imma do my own thing scene” scene, and both the way he vents to his mother on Earth 42 before revealing he’s spider man (who doesn’t exist here) and the one where he’s trying to convince Uncle Aaron to be good just to see what Miles becomes in 42 are all really good||

||Everything in 42 alone has a lot of weight to it, especially since it comes off after Gwen reconciles with her father. We get to see Gwen finally conclude her story, but Miles is still struggling||

I'll be real, something about MIles' arc in this movie just doesn't register for me

Like, when he did the "I beat em all" speech, all four times in theaters I was left with the impression that he was just lying to his mom

He goes from desperate and scared, haunted by decisions outside his control, to confident and comfortable in his identity

Gwen gets the big reconciliation scene with her dad, but I feel like for Miles' arc he needed that time more

(I prefer that Gwen got it, personally)

he was told that he doesn't belong and that he'll never be a real spider-man while also having outsmarted every other spider man

i think it was definitely a moment of overconfidence, helped by the fact that he believes he's back home and can stop whatever calamity will befall his father
