like id only rly put it above eternals and love and thunder
love and thunder annoyed me while quantumania just bored me to tears, and honestly id rather be bored than annoyed and angry
Alright let's see if there's a second post credits
was checking the tv tropes page and
what an opening to phase 5!!!112
Setting up Loki season 2 I guess
That didn't even feel like a post credits?
That just felt like... a scene from the show?
Forced in there?
It would have to be
They gotta explain why Owen Wilson knows who Loki is again
i feel so bad for marvel fans outside of spider-man knowing this slop is what people know the characters for now
You know it blows
I was actually kinda excited for this one
It was gonna have MODOK man
i was super hyped for multiverse of madness as well
theres a rly good reason ppl are getting tired of superhero content
MOST* of it is either boring nothing schlock or an edgy romp written by someone who thinks they're smarter than they actually are
god forbid whats gonna happen with spider-man once spider-verse ends
At least James Gunn did good for the superhero movies he made
So maybe DC is looking up
At the same time though
I'm afraid it's gonna get very "samey" pretty fast
Everyone is already trying to capture his style now
i honestly feel the superhero genre works way better in animated or illustrated form, with as little restrictions as possible
Agreed, I like when it can get wacky
They did that with Ant Man didn’t they
They just had a random ass scene from Civil War at the end of Ant Man with Cap and Falcon meeting with Bucky
Read up some lore on Kang on tv tropes, now I can understand the appeal behind his premise as an avenger level threat
...too bad they chose one of the less threatening looking actors ever for the role, i watched that postcredits scene with the council and
Man this mfer looks too young and not tall enough to portray all of these guys
Ironic the one character who has a million portrayals and roles had to have its actor end up likely Exiled oops
Like if he's recast that's gonna be like 3 thousand roles with the same face getting replaced with another LOL
rhodey times a thousand
Anyhow quantumania really was a spy kids movie
hello I forgot this existed
I've finished watching all the phase 1 movies I think, now what's that's left is just watching Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 and then Ragnarok
even though I'm really just tempted to skip to ragnarok anywau
MCU thread jumpscare
But Ragnarok is like the best one
Council of kangs image up above
my thoughts on Iron Man 3
i at least appreciate the plot not being about setting up the Avengers in Iron Man 2
on the other hand the premise about people turned into firebombs is really freaking out there and is super out of place in the MCU let alone an iron man movie
obviously it's disappointing that it took a decade and the death of the main character to actually follow up the whole ten rings thing this movie was supposed to finish but I guess I enjoyed it more than IM2 as long as I don't think too hard about the plot
so I guess overall if I ignore the fact that it's supposed to be in continuity with stuff it's not that bad
update or whatever with the three or so films i watched
Interesting tierlist...
You got
Good 2
Good
Just absolutely bad bonkers of a movie
Uh what's the lower tier?
NVM you replied to the full list
Tbh i enjoy iron man 3 a lot more than the 2nd one
Generally I found myself more entertained with the extremis virus plot despite the fact the Mandarin was just a coverup until shang chi
And generally was happy to see the mcu rogues gallery of iron man expand beyond just mech stuff
It is funny how iron man didn't get more solo sequels after this one with how much screentime he got in civil war and the next 3 avengers, just a fun thought
i feel like the CGI and special effects in IM3 were pretty decent overall
it sold the idea of firey exploding regenerating people convincingly enough with the effects
but maybe i'm a little biased because i just watched that pretty much immediately after the incredible hulk and his janky ass CGI
and i guess it should stand that a movie released in 2012 ought to have better special effects than a 2006 one
ermmmmmmmmmmm
2008
oh nevermind i guess it was 2013, and 2008
listen they kept on talking about the Avengers like it was 6 months prior so idk
as for why i chose 2006
uhhh
pretend i was somehow convinced of a Hulk movie that existed between that and the 2003 one
yeah and it sucked, he kissed a human girl there, yucky!
Ok so is Loki season 2 any good?
Also yes I did dig out this corpse to ask this question
watched the first episode and it was cool like the first season. but I need to continue watching it lol
Things have gotten a little twisted in the Multiverse…

Sorry about the quality reduction! YouTube’s compression SUCKS! :(
Wow ive never seen this before this is god awful
What were they thinking
Waititi moment
wow this movie cannot come soon enough
as in i'm getting the feeling it really should not release anytime soon but somehow is despite my protests
anyway wow revived thread can you believe an mcu movie released while this thread was dead and literally nobody could care less
like it was only a month ago or something that i learned that they apparently put X-Men into the Marvels movie and that movie released like ages ago and nobody cared enough to talk about it
anyway i'm thinking now that summer is starting i can now begin bingewatching and bingeregretting a bunch of MCU films again
i really don't even really feel like my original intent get up to date on pop culture is even applicable here given that most of the remaining films i haven't watched suck ass but i suppose i might as well do something to waste my time
can't tell if i cooked or if we got cooked when i said this lmao
marvel was lurking in this chat actually
They stole the idea after they had to pivot from Kang and couldn’t think of a plan clever enough
still funny when the guy got arrested they just completely fucking discarded everything
like they'd have to reshoot so much they might as well have to rewrite it all
i still feel bad memorizing the kang lore to feel more caught up only for him to get killed by a bunch of ants lol
quantumania was a spy kids movie
Not really great to have your overarching villain be recasted... no less possibly scrapped entirely midway
honestly the fact they barely bothered having their overarching villain at all in phase 4 was so damning
tbf thanos only appeared in like
what, 2 or 3 films before infinity war
and only really given proper characterization in GotG
i do think it just feels like a super nothing build up anyway since it feels like everyone's being killed off anyway
wellll, thanos hadn't appeared much, but the stones did
so even without him in the flesh the plot got moved along slowly with 4 prior stones
either way it's hilarious that
they had made kang appear so little they could technically write him out
yeah lol
only appearing in the flesh in like
freaking loki in disguise, and then as a guy who gets killed by ants in antman is hilarious
like they deadass had no avengers-level villain during phase 4
Kang is definitely just a Loki character and nothing more
Hi does anyone have a complete release order list for the MCU
Movies and shows obviously
I found what seems almost complete here https://www.imdb.com/list/ls525999515/
Just lacks stuff from the last year
And also doesn’t distinguish when certain seasons released for the streaming shows
Found this comment on Reddit too
Also lacks anything past What If Season 3
This seems good
The 5 billion one shots kinda bloat the list but otherwise this looks good
This is goofy as hell
Multiverse detour: the entire 20th century fox marvel catalog
It’s technically in the MCU but it’s also mostly standalone
How important are all those older pre streaming shows
like yeah its a marvel character but i don't think he's anything more than a D-tier character
I know there was a new daredevil thing
kinda nil
me when the disney plus app has "MCU chronological order:" and lists the Thor Team short.
Agents of SHIELD was supposed to be canon in Phase 2 but got turned into alternate continuity by Phase 4
which i suppose means Coulson really did die in the avengers
That’s funny
What about all the other seasons from whatever this list has
Are those also similarly optional (again aside from the one daredevil thing that released recently)
Daredevil is basically the only one that counts currently
Like yeah the rest of the Netflix shows are canon but they’re basically ignored
which tbh daredevil is definitely like the most popular out of all of them
at most i'd say Punisher is a close second
but i don't think its really possible to pragmatically adapt him into the movies
Yeah that’s the one I hear positive reception about
oh i just meant as a character
Ah
like there's a reason they sold the rights really early on
Iron Man only really became super popular after the movie
The franchises that were sold off were the well known and popular ones
marvel's money crisises still affecting us over 30 years later!
So X-Men, Fantastic 4, Spiderman, Hulk, Daredevil (and Elektra), Blade
blade is probably the most incomprehensible one but its probably just related to the fact that its really easy to not have it tie into other superheroes and just be standalone
or maybe there was just a huge blaxploitation craze
that's probably it
The original movies came out at the right time
That post Matrix aesthetic with gratuitous violence and a darker emo style
They really defined what Blade was as a franchise to most people
but the point is correct, that aesthetic was definitely pretty rife for the late 90s
apparently the Blade movie is a lot cheesier and humorous than the trailers would make you think
i havent seen it but the tone is more campy rather than serious
I’ve seen it and it definitely has some camp
i was just watching a video about pre-mcu marvel toys funnily enough
dumbjake talks about toys that are based on Marvel movies that came out BEFORE the MCU, discussing movies like Blade, X-Men The Movie, Hulk, Fantastic Four, and Ghost Rider.
