On a 2021 French podcast named "AlloCiné" featuring the director of the JoJo anime's French dub, Alan Aubert-Carlin explains that they would want to use the original Stand names, however the Japanese publisher Shueisha specifically told them to change the names to different ones to maintain Japanese exclusivity over the usage of the original names, saying "No, you aren't allowed to use those names, They're a Japanese exclusive".

Alan says he was shocked when they couldn't use "WANNABE" for Spice Girl's Stand rush against B.I.G., but they were forced to change it. He summarizes and says that they're doing the best they could under these circumstances, saying that if you want to complain about the names changes, you should write to the Japanese publisher for forbidding the usage of the original names.

it's actually my favorite part, but i am a little mixed with the anime adaptation in terms of stuff like the animation quality and some very minor things changed around in scenes

but overall i do still recommend this part because of the last third especially, it's some of the strongest writing in jojo and the finale left me with so many things to think about

most of my enjoyment was already from the manga, so im not sure how it'd be like for somebody delving into the anime as their first romp, but i otherwise think it's a pretty cool part, good enough to earn my favorite spot even after having read all 8 completed parts

Having it as your favourite part is a good ass take and I respect it. Part 4 is still my favourite but Part 6 is REALLY damn close (And both parts each have characters that I am very normal about [Okuyasu and Anasui] so yeah lmao.
Also I agree the last third is the best thing to come out of jojo, without a doubt.

I watched it through the anime and yeah I could tell that there was some meddling here and there (Netflix) but still, it was so fucking good.
