Rule of thumb, look for "matching" grips on guns (ones of the same manufacturer as the gun it's on), they give a very large mag and reload boost for some reason

A good way to tell if you have the matching grip in stats alone is if the gun has an out of band mag size AND good reload. Maliwan Snipers, for example, have a 6 base mag and 4.0 base reload. If BOTH stats are better, then it's matching

turns out the basemaps mod breaks a lot of shit with multiplayer? a lot of the mods me and my friend wanted to use have an alt sdk version which doesn't require the basemaps thingy, so we can hopefully play modded multiplayer properly now

Only off by the material it looks like. In terms of actual damage. The stock could be better too but that doesn't usually matter much for damage especially on an anarchy. I tend to prefer the lower mag size variants though for the boost in reload speed.

But I can understand that reloading less often always feels nice. And if you're playing a character with good reload speed boosts like Mordy higher mag size is prolly better anyway.

I main Roland so he has in-tree mag size but NOT reload speed so that's prolly why I favor banana clip.

Ahh yes you are correct. I had forgotten about that in BL1. Can't remember the exact values though...it might only give a reload speed difference if it is stockless which would actually be fine on something like an anarchy, but the kick would be a pain for something like a stinger
