you can use gibbeds save editor if you're on pc to give yourself some items, and if yous till wanna enjoy the hardship of the game you can make the weponn/items not so overpowered
just make them like level 10/15 if you're around level 5+-
make them too overpowered and you'll lose interest in playing coz then it will oneshot every enemy

Well, you can't shoot yourself with regular bullets but you can absorb stuff that damages you. Not sure about ricocheted bullets. Also Logan's Gun's explosions count for rocket ammo for the purposes of ammo absorption, even though it uses pistol ammo itself.
