This doesnt really have anything to do with qbcore so help might be limited unless someone with experience with mapping or code walker can step in but just giving you heads up, but i know many tried this before to put all the maps into one stream file if thats what your trying to do, i know there were some youtube videos with tutorials on how to get it done

When you want to revisit it let me know ! It’s much simpler than the way your brain makes it complicated

#

Cause I felt the same way at first

No manifest when editing vanilla ymaps

#

All you are doing is editing the ymap and when you stream it, it overrides the vanilla ymap which already has a manifest

gritty lark
#

so i delete the fx

?

My guide:

1. Setting Up CodeWalker

To set up CodeWalker for GTA 5, follow these steps:

  1. Download and Install CodeWalker

  2. Initial Launch Configuration

    • If your game is installed through Steam, CodeWalker will automatically detect the installation location upon launch.
    • If you downloaded GTA 5 through another method, you will need to locate the GTA5.exe file manually when prompted.
  3. Configuring Settings

    • Allow the program to fully launch and render the map.
    • Press T to open the settings menu.
    • Select the icon with arrows pointing up, down, left, and right to activate movement controls.
    • On the right-hand side, configure the following:
      • Under Selection, check Selection Enabled on Click.
      • Enable DLCs and Mods.
    • Save these settings to ensure they are retained for future sessions.

2. Working with YDR Files in Blender or 3ds

When editing YDR files, particularly those tied to specific locations in GTA 5, it is important to maintain accuracy and alignment. Here’s how:

  1. Understanding File Coordinates
    • YDR files that are location-specific retain their original coordinates when imported into Blender or 3ds. This is normal and reflects their actual in-game positioning.
#
  • Avoid moving the geometry along any axis unless absolutely necessary, as any adjustments will cause misalignment when re-importing the files into the game.
  1. Importing Surrounding Areas for Accuracy

    • To maintain precision and properly visualize the context, import the YDR files for the surrounding areas. This helps ensure that edits align seamlessly with the environment and prevents misplacement.
  2. Editing YMLODs and Maintaining LOD Hierarchies

    • When editing YMLODs, make sure you are modifying the specific LODs you need and that you include any associated parent LODs. Avoid deleting any parent-child relationships, as doing so can disrupt the file integrity.
  • To facilitate better visualization, import the surrounding area’s YDR files into Blender. Create the entire area if needed but, for efficiency, stream only the essential elements.

Let me find my ymap guide for part 2

#

————

I can’t find it so you’re gonna get the ghetto version where I don’t care about grammar. Gonna take me a second to type it all

#

After you following the steps of launching codewalker and setting up your initial few settings there is a few things you need to understand

The ymaps your showed me are vanilla .ymaps, you should never add your own work into it, you should always make your own separate ymap.

For the vanilla ymaps you only need to alter them if you are going to be editing the area you are putting your ymap.

If you aren’t editing the world area all you need to do is

Open codewalker

Set up your settings as described in my first guide

Press control + N

Click file

New ymap

The ymap will appear on the left as map.ymap or map1.ymap

Click on it on the left hand side

Then on the right hand side you will see where to name your ymap.

Add a name

Click on your ymap on the left hand side make sure it’s highlighted

Press the save icon and save it to where u want

Then hit ymap / new entity

Add your props to this ymap

Generate manifest

Save
