I understand that this game uses a rolling or “gacha” system to introduce new characters, but the system is arguably predatory. Roblox is primarily marketed toward children, and mechanics like these can promote gambling-like behavior at an early age.
The game limits character slots, meaning that players especially younger ones may be forced to give up previously acquired characters, even ones they paid real money to obtain. This creates a harmful loop: kids spend Robux to roll for miracle classes without fully understanding the value of what they're giving up a hallmark of predatory monetization.
While Roblox currently allows randomized item systems as long as the odds are clearly disclosed and there is no way to win Robux in return, this may not be the case for long. Regulatory changes in regions like the European Union are targeting these gacha's and similar systems. If laws shift to classify these mechanics as gambling or ban them entirely, Roblox may be compelled to act against games using these models such as Basketball Zero.
It would be wiser and more ethical to transition to a more transparent, consumer-friendly model now rather than wait until regulatory pressure forces a reactive and messy overhaul.
